Mr. Innocent would never do anything dangerous. Davis says 'careful' when he gets himself into tricky situations. We think he interprets the meaning to be 'watch this' or 'catch me'.

It is a little wrong, but you can't help but chuckle when Davis tries to say 'helicopter'. And if he combines it with 'I don't see it!' (sounds like he's saying oh sh**) -yikes, it turns into a real 'stranger at wally-world speed-dialing DHS' type moment. Needless to say, we're working on correct pronunciations. Davis (left) checks-out a bug while Daddy (right) explains that it can also be called a 'rotary-winged aircraft' Davis has no trouble at all saying 'TANK!' "tank you for your comments!"

Davis loves going to wally world. Just mention it going down the road and he perks-up. And, of course, it was part of his early-on vocabulary. Only on rare occasions does he get to sit in the rides at the entrance, and then he's fine without them moving- so it's cheap entertainment. (He really does have shoes- just took them off before we got to the car) Davis likes the ice cream truck ride and the 'always low prices' on Gogurt brand yogurt

...till the Football Razorbacks kickoff the season!  Davis is working overtime to perfect his game yells and calling the hogs before the season starts. He has a strong voice for a fan his size- we're working to see if he can yell for the hogs as loud as he can yell "MILK!" Davis doesn't know much about the Troy Trojans, except that he should get plenty of practice yelling "Touchdown Arkansas!" (Davis was casually reminded that he should put down his toy before calling the hogs -raising both arms is the proper way...just raising one arm looks a little cult-ish)

Davis thinks any glasses are cool... we say cool when he puts on his shades and when we put on our shades... now even regular glasses are cool. Here he is playing with Papa and Nana's reading glasses, we got to hang out there the other day because our air pooped out for a bit... Tonight we went out to dinner at one of Davis' favorite places...as he says it..."El Chica Chica Chico" We had mucho refried beans and rice and chip and dip. Then Papa and Nana bought him him his first pair of Nike's. They are sharp we'll get some pics of them another time, for now this is him playing in the bed of Papa's truck... He has fun scaring us from back there! Thanks so much to Papa and Nana!! We love you!

Davis is very obsessive about balloons. Thankfully, there are types of balloons that are durable and last a long time! He can spend the majority of the day playing with it. It's a good thing, because his Cubs have been losing some games lately. So far, his favorite version of 'take me out to the ballgame' is the one Eddie Vedder sang. We keep about 3 Cubs games saved on the tivo for Davis to listen/watch the 7th inning stretch song. He hasn't started singing along yet, but there's gonna be that first time- and it probably won't be that long from now!

See Monkey wearing socks? (Crib Monkey- lost mouth in clothes dryer accident- stays very quiet) For the past few days, Davis' Monkey has been wearing socks- he thinks it's pretty funny. One night before bed, Davis opened his drawer and pulled-out a pair of socks. After the socks went on, he found his hat (maybe because he likes the picture of Monkey wearing his hat on the blog?) He then went back to the crib to free his Monkey. Freedom at last! With Monkey sitting in the front row,  it was time for dancing... Starting-off with the proper foot-positioning is an important part of any successful dance Davis usually finishes-up all of his dances  with a spin move and a hearty "Whee!" With a good time had by all, (and a full belly) Davis was tired-out. With a tip of the hat, Davis rides-off into the sunset.

The heat is really limiting Davis' time outdoors. He is staying busy inside, putting a lot of miles on his bouncing zebra! (the one at the park doesn't light-up or make any sound).Maybe by this time next month, he will be able to play outside more often. He hasn't been to the parks in Fort Smith in a while- and we're anxious to get out there! In the early mornings, Davis does enjoy walking in the dew-covered grass, then stepping on the sidewalk to check-out his footprints. We can't stay out long, and by afternoon he's ready for some ice water instead of his favorite cup of milk.

Mommy and Daddy were able to get away to Rogers Friday night for their anniversary! Davis' Grandmother Mimi came for a visit and brought him a carefree aquarium that looks very realistic! He has mastered the off/on switch and can spot Nemo everytime he passes by! Davis likes his new PJ's too! (all photos by Grandmother Mimi!) Davis continually amazes us by making-up his own tricks. One of his newer ones is to back-up to his music cube for a no-look sit. It takes his full concentration, but he gets really excited and applauds himself when he pulls it off. Davis knows that he's a cool dude
