 The 25,000 piece Lincoln Log Christmas present is still a solid source for fun. Davis has a lot of creative ideas and helps with building. It's hours and hours of sound effects, story lines,  and even songs from his favorite CD (yesterday's post). (Davis gets a little concerned when he thinks that he may not be at the center of the camera's focus)

Davis got an early Christmas present last night. It's actually an ornament for the tree, but he's having a lot of fun with it as a toy. The rocket is from Davis' new favorite show -The Little Einsteins. It plays the theme song each time the button is pressed (it comes with special batteries, and so far they're good for a couple hundred playings of the song). a rare moment of quiet with the new toy

Mimi gave Davis this cool cube puzzle a few months ago. He has a lot of fun with it, and he's really got the hang of it! Thanks Mimi! ...Davis works on another puzzle tomorrow!...

Davis really likes his new blocks. He sees the box of the open sided cubes that fit inside each other and yells "stack 'em!" With a little help, he's able to build a block tower as tall as himself! He does have a steady hand, and always places at least the last two blocks without any assistance. As soon as the last block goes up, Davis can hardly contain his excitement as he knocks the tower down. Of course he likes to build obstacles for his monster trucks to jump over too.

First thing when Davis goes to see his Papa and Nana, he's looking for his monster truck toy. He gets in a real hurry, running down the sidewalk. If it's nice outside, he gets to play with it in the front yard. heading out of the garage for some monster-size fun! the little boy hard at play

Officially, it's known as the Mozart Magic Cube. Davis knows it as his music box, and he's had it just about all of his life. It's been pretty neat seeing him develop with the toy. It took him a while before he was able to focus his strength to push the over-sized buttons for the different instruments. Then came the day when he figured-out the on/off button. Before then, Davis would hit the off button accidentally, and it would really upset him that his favorite toy might be broken. He would lay on the floor and scream -really scaring us. Of course it was a serious issue for Davis, but we were relieved when one day he simply picked-up the toy, brought it over to one of us and said "fix it?" Now Davis can name all the different instruments -piano, harp, flute, violin, french horn and he can also say 'orchestra'. He can push the one you ask for, but just as important, he can independently search through all of his toys, find it,...

The Big Ball is a show-stopper in the house. It comes out on rare occasions and the fun automatically begins. Especially now that Davis can pick it up, bounce it, and even throw it a short distance. It does take-up a lot of space, and can be challenging to hide -but it's money in the bank to entertain the d-monster. Sometimes the big ball shows-up when Davis has been having a good day, other times it helps him get over some tough times. it makes a big bouncing noise that he enjoys too!

Davis loves the slide at his school, now he has his own! After weeks of searching, Mommy scored one at the resale shop! Davis can slide fast and safely onto the grass! Davis climbs all the way to the top of the slide without the slightest fear Along with some self-made sound effects, he slides down We are now out of room in the garage for storage of Davis' outside toys. Daddy is behind schedule in completing a mini-storage shed/playhouse for Davis. There's a section of the backyard that is fenced-off from the doggies that will give Davis a nice area to play and watch his furry buddies. Maybe by springtime, Davis will be getting grass stains, pulling everything out of his playhouse, and getting licked through the fence. He does enjoy the front yard though, he watches bicycles, birds, and the occasional airplane.

Running a lawnmower indoors has its advantages : He can always stop and visit (saying Hi to Uncle Keith) and it's Earth friendly (not sure why Davis is covering his face  -maybe he thinks A.Gore will make him watch his movie  for using disposable diapers) Sometimes there are anxious moments with indoor lawnmowing But overall, it's a fun experience

Davis has seen one on TV (and even touched it)... Now he has one of his own! (thank you Nana!) It's remote-controlled, and had Davis a little concerned at first. For close to a week, Davis would look -but not touch it Davis touches the spider for the first time Davis calls his Nana to tell her the big news!

Recently, Davis has changed his instrument of choice. He hauls Marley's old food container from the kitchen into the den. Then the incessant percussive rhythms begin. Davis has figured-out how to make different tones (?) by hitting his drum on different areas. He puts his entire body into the performance too. It was entertaining the first few times. Now we're considering a 'middle of the night relocation of the drum to the attic' -would that be wrong? (afterall, how much practice do professional steel drum players need?)

As every good racer knows, it's all about preparation and an eye for details. Getting to the track early. Checking-out everything, and not leaving anything to chance. Waking-up this morning at 5am, Davis is a serious racer- focused on the checkered flag. After countless hours of testing, he has chosen the best vehicle. He checks the track one last time... The cement truck wins!

Davis is really enthusiastic about seeing the Moon. He looks for it every evening in the sky before he goes to bed (sometimes when it's still daylight). There was a stretch of time with all of the clouds that he went weeks without seeing it. Poor little guy had almost given-up looking for it. Then one night at Target we found it- a Moon in a box to put on his wall! Now,  Davis can see the Moon whenever he wants!  It even has a remote control (another bonus for Davis) and lights-up fully, or in different phases. Yee Haw! Davis will be able to check-out his horsey everyday on his blog! It's maintenance-free and always seems to be happy.

It's a Big Ford Truck! (thanks Uncle Lance and Aunt Lisa and AC!) Davis really likes sitting in his new ride and acting the part of a courteous and safe driver. He has some funny mimics of his Mommy and Daddy driving routines too. He's serious stuff behind the wheel and knows exactly what to do! Davis is serious about proper vehicle maintenance that will bring miles and miles of smiles! (Davis still isn't too sure about his new haircut)
