Every July, (at least since last year!) we blog about DJ's time capsule. It's more like a memory box, since we open it every now & then. Some of its contents include: Drawings Letters to his future self Predictions about Lego sequel movies Small keepsakes from family trips What's new inside? A shiny kiwi. It's a New Zealand dollar. Since the kiwi is a nocturnal critter, it makes sense that the coin glows in the dark: For now, this is as close as we'll get to a NZ experience. Maybe next summer?

What to keep in a time capsule? It's more like a memory box, since we open/close it every so often.   Davis has several items inside that he may (or may not) find interesting in the future (such as the remnants of a $5 bill that Shiloh attempted to eat).   The most recent 'deposit' into the time capsule was from Lego Land Discovery. It contains the small, inscribed giveaway brick from the "factory tour" and a receipt from a gift shop purchase. Davis wrote a note that he believes "Legos will cost less in the future." He will definitely be surprised when he returns in a few decades.     Some items are to be opened on certain dates. There's a Lego Movie Sequel envelope with his predictions about the characters. It also contains an original (unopened) Lego Movie mini-figure -to be opened on the date of the 2nd movie's theater opening in 2017.   Another item is an example...

Davis really enjoyed The Lego Movie . And, he was thrilled to hear about the sequel. Surprisingly, he wasn't too disappointed about  when the follow-up movie is scheduled to be in theaters. When the second Lego Movie begins showing in theaters,  Davis will be attending Middle School . The US will have a new President. I-540 construction will be nearing completion. Davis will have watched the first Lego Movie more than 100 times.
