Once in a while, homework is finished after a fruitful snack. No matter the due date, and regardless the day of the week. Interesting or tedious, studying is a powerful tool.   Going forward, one lesson is learned of most importance- forgetful details will fall like rain, yet we must stay afloat with our studies.

It's always a fun time of the school year!

It was Game 3 of the Texas League Championship Series (Midland was ahead 2-0)   Not fair: Midland brought their own weather with them. It was the hottest game we had attended all year. It started hot & humid, and may have even gotten warmer as the game progressed. Not even a breeze. #scorcher These were unNatural playing conditions.    This was going to be a tough game.   Before the game started, DJ got to meet & greet some of the Naturals: He's got the best walk-up music, (according to Brandy) it's Zane Evans ! He was back! It's DJ's favorite coach, Mitch Maier ! He's from the land of Lamborghinis & Ferraris, It's Alex Liddi ! Raul Mondesi gave DJ a tough-looking sharpie signature tattoo.  and, Jorge Bonifacio gave Davis a Texas League Championship Game ball. ECTED There's a lot different in Downtown Fort Smith. Some changes were still in progress during our visit. Davis knew something had changed since the last time he was in Downtown. ...besides the street closures...   What could it be? It's Unexpected!  Unexpected big, bold, & bright! Unexpected opportunity to meet the artist!  Unexpected awesomeness! Unexpected themes! Unexpected to be our most favorite! Years from now, Davis can say that he remembers meeting some of the artists & watching them paint & create! World-renowned artists from Ireland, New Zealand, Brazil, Portugal, and other nations participated in the weeklong mural-painting festival.  

We're fortunate to have two of the best Minor League ballparks within a not-so-far drive of our home! In addition to being the home field for the Arkansas Travelers, Dickey Stephens Ballpark hosted last year's Texas League All Star Game Now, the Northwest Arkansas Naturals were in town to finish-off a best-of-five  Division Series sweep of the Travelers.  In addition to the game, we wanted to get a certain autograph. The Travelers happen to have one of the best pitching prospects in all of the Minor Leagues.   He would surely turn away from an obvious Naturals fan.   Time to implement a plan. The plan: Disguise DJ as a Travelers Fan. Find & request an autograph from top pitcher and #1 prospect, Sean Newcomb. DJ even practiced his North Little Rock accent before the players arrived.
