Razorback Baseball!

DJ's first game of the season! We've been to baseball games in February before... We wore winter coats & shivered under blankets... Not today! We enjoyed perfect, fantastic weather! Great seats for watching some close-game action! Tusk, the official Razorback, made a special appearance! Arkansas won the game! A good way to start a successful season!

Razorback Baseball in the Rock!

The baseball Razorbacks play just one game this season at the Traveler's ballpark in N.Little Rock. Tickets for the game sell-out fast, which makes for an extra-exciting atmosphere! We were surprised that the kid's play area was up and running (the Travelers' season is still over a week away). It's the best ballpark kid's area we've been to! Six big inflatables, playground equipment, a wiffleball field, and a large area for running around. Spoon-sanity in North Little Rock!!! Davis cheered for #8 Tyler Spoon and, #25 Dominic Ficoceillo Everybody was concerned if the Hogs could eek-out a win. The Delta Devils had the bases loaded  in the 9th inning with only one out. While both teams were putting-up zeros on the scoreboard in the middle innings, we made a super financial decision. The best $3 ever spent! (unlimited jump-around access) (well, until they let all of the air out of everything after the end of the 7th inning) The Razo...

Go Hogs!

vs Kentucky! at a sold-out Bud Walton Arena! calling those Hogs! (it got so very loud- earplugs are on the list, for sure!) when not yelling, a tasty treat is nice Raising the Roof! A big win for the Razorbacks!

Prep Work

There's no off-season for serious Hog fans. It's a year-round commitment. Sure, it's a lot of fun when it's the day of a big game. But, it's days like this when winning strategies are devised. And, it's afternoons like this when the desire to put a beat-down on 'Bama is cemented. And it's realized that  another season of football is upon us    Can #8 get enough protection from the offensive line to systematically  pick-apart the Crimson Tide secondary? Yes.   Davis says T.Wilson will pass for over 320 yards against Alabama. However, the Hog Defense must 'mean-up' and hold the Tide to 3 or fewer touchdowns. win or lose, DJ knows Hog fans have an obligation an obligation to tailgate with good friends & good food! -the best place- the area around Bud Walton Arena the landscaping has improved a lot! (the area just south is still closed-off due to on-going construction) ...

Back at Bogle!

Fall Fun at the Ballpark Re-enacting a most memorable moment: (when he chased-down a home run ball, way back in March '09) We enjoyed perfect weather, free admission, and lots of runs! After the 2nd inning, some well-mannered fraternity members  showed-up without shirts, and letters painted on their chests... With some left-over eye black from T-Ball, Davis was going to  volunteer to be an exclamation point, but he changed  his mind at the last minute: His favorite number. (and, he quickly changed his mind about having  his picture taken with any of the letters) Coolness restored: Row 1 Seat 1 (photo taken before realizing that we had a spare Razorback shirt in the car) a perfectly sloped berm for fast (but not too fast) rolling The Best College Softball Stadium in the USA! Go Hogs Go!

Razorback Baseball

It was a good thing that we bought tickets in advance! This was the only game of the year that Arkansas plays in (North) Little Rock @ the Traveler's ballpark.  -extra long lines for yummy ballpark hot dogs! a great game! Arkansas beat Memphis 7-2

Razorback Baseball

Saturday was a great day for being outside! Although the game started at 1pm with the stadium lights turned-on, the sun came out towards the middle of the game- it felt so good! Mr Independent: he carries his own chair and his own ticket Ballpark Hot Dogs! Where's Davis? (Arkansas played the Hornets from Delaware State- lots of hits & runs by the Razorbacks!) (Papa is wearing the white shirt, Davis is standing next to his blue chair) With Arkansas' team captain scoring the final run of a 9-2 victory, the Hornets' catcher didn't seem too excited about the next day's game. (Arkansas swept the series against DSU. They won 5-0 on Friday,  and 10-0 on Sunday) Davis had mixed emotions:  he gave the ballgame a thumbs-up and leaving a thumbs-down

Ice Hogs

Davis' first hockey game! Hockey is an intramural sport at the UofA  (no scholarships, no school funding) Today was the most important game of the season- playing against Texas A&M in Dallas at the awesome professional hockey arena! Davis started calling the hogs early and often! (the players have to pay for their own uniforms & equipment) Davis had a blast! (we soon learned that the green ledge is not a good place to set a drink- the players crash so hard, right in front of us!- Davis called the crashes 'catastrophes'  we could not have been any closer to the action! Davis decided that he wants to be a professional hotel pool swimmer by day, and a part-time Zamboni driver by night  the goalie had a very cool helmet- something that the little boy could use when playing tag Arkansas played great, but A&M won the game #20 (third Razorback to the right) is Davis' favorite Ice Hog... ...because... even after ...
