Spook-tacular!

Back Row: Anna, Davis, Katy Front Row: Bailey, AC, Blaine going out of our way to park next to the po-po at the Fall Festival! our precious little dragonfly

Happy Halloween!

Boo! Davis is a scary dragonfly this year.  He's not all that keen about wearing his costume,  but he's having fun with it. Trick or Treat ! maybe a little concerned about all the candy being loaded-up in the car Davis will be doing some trick or treating at Nana and Papa's house this evening,  and he'll get to see his cousins wearing their scary costumes. flapping his wings to a neighborhood near you! some out-takes: enlarge this photo -notice that his hood may be a little too tight maybe a little too much soda before the photo shoot

Nature Center

We unknowingly started a routine of making a visit to the Janet Huckabee River Valley Nature Center every 3 months. It started when Davis wore the same shirt during his visits in April and July. So we planned this visit in October with Davis wearing the same shirt. (It's fun to do these things while Davis is young, so he can look back later and see how goofy his parents are) The shirt has a couple more visits left in it, and the birdhouse exhibit looks like it might be on permanent display. The nature center was very busy when we visited, but Davis was un-fazed. He interacts well with other children, and outwardly goes about finding and naming different shapes that he sees. We're already looking forward to our visit in January! Davis was pleasantly surprised to see the bobcat still in its frozen position Daddy says good posture makes for good back strength good strength for climbing rocks time to rest for a spell stretching high ...

Wells Lake

D avis got a new haircut at Fort Chaffee yesterday. He was excited to see Lisa and Elvis. With all of the training going-on there, it was a little busy, so Davis got to check-out everything. Lisa let him touch the velvet Elvis portrait (oooh!) and a major let him touch his boots (dirty!). Davis did such a good job sitting in the barber's chair by himself, that we decided to go to nearby Wells Lake. We walked on the new pedestrian bridge and saw lots of geese. Davis loved the bridge -he can see the water up close and has plenty of room to run around. The railing on the bridge is very kid friendly. There's not enough room for him to poke his head through, yet he can see everything without having to be picked up. The railing is also close enough to the deck that he can't get his feet stuck underneath. It's always nice going someplace that Davis is really excited about -and to know that he can play hard and be relatively safe too. Davis is learning...

IndoorLawnMowing

LOWES FALL CATALOG The 2008 BigNoise Lawnmower *3ft monster sold separately Davis has always enjoyed watching lawnmowers in action So he was thrilled when Nana and Papa found one for him! Running a lawnmower indoors has its advantages : He can always stop and visit (saying Hi to Uncle Keith) and it's Earth friendly (not sure why Davis is covering his face  -maybe he thinks A.Gore will make him watch his movie  for using disposable diapers) Sometimes there are anxious moments with indoor lawnmowing But overall, it's a fun experience

Night Night

L ast night Davis decided that the blanket in the floor of the den was a nice spot for a good night's sleep. We let him sleep there for about ten minutes before moving him back to his crib (he even stayed asleep during the move). We're debating when to convert the crib into a big-boy bed. He's been doing very well with sleeping the entire night, and he does good with going up and down on other furniture. If anything, the crib has been giving us problems wrangling-up Davis in the mornings, he likes running back and forth -trying to dodge our attempts to get him ready to go. We probably don't have long to decide, anyway, with him growing so fast. (Davis always seems to wake-up in ...

Fun in Ozark

It's the biggest balloon Davis has ever seen! perfect weather for our trip with Papa and Nana Davis with his bear 'backpack' (leash-system) He liked seeing the pigs go fast... ...and he saw a helicopter up close! ...too much fun for standing around a fall display for a picture! Thank you Papa and Nana for a great time!

Rhino

What's on your shirt, Davis?   Davis enjoys answering people when asked what's on his shirt. His favorite is probably the rhino shirt. He looks down at it each time before saying in a loud and distinct voice- 'rhino' Sometimes even a rhino shirt and a tattoo band-aid can't help from getting a little stressed over a toy not working the way you think it should. RHINO!

Armchair Traffic Cop

SLOW                          DOWN ! Davis strains to get a good observation of a 30mph speed-racer. He  loves watching traffic in front of our house. It's not that busy of a road, but he still gets to see cars, pick-up trucks, and even a few motorcycles. One thing he doesn't like- speeders. He can easily pick-out the ones going over 20mph and advises them to slow-down. When there's a lull in traffic, it's time for the dump truck. Sometimes it has an accident and turns-over. Davis checks for any damages, then tries to climb onto the truck while Daddy is busy taking pictures.
