A Hootin' Trip to the NC

Even though the Nature Center is a 15 minute trip from the house,  we still consider it to be a special trip. After our numerous visits, Davis always manages to find something new! the spoonbill catfish way up high is new  snakes are always a favorite  turtle in the clear box never gets old Big smiles from Davis -not new new & cool fishing lure exhibit! comforting the black bear Davis does a little indoor fishing a slightly awkward high-five,  but a 'best friends' confirmation nonetheless

We Luv the NC!

Changes

From our first visit to Wells Lake in October 2007, to today's visit. 22 months between the two photos. From crawling in diapers to running and leading the way being cradled in one arm to touching in the pool Davis is growing, and more independent each passing day. Giggles, pouts, screaming tears, and drool stinky feet and holes in new jeans through it all, Davis had our hearts won. Changes bring new hopes and dreams, and certain pride of our son.

Then & Now in the Birdhouse

BACK to School

This is Davis' last year of Pre-K  He has been talking about going back to the elementary school for the past few weeks.    So, today was something we had been looking forward to!

Pondering a Picked Pepper

This morning, Davis helped water the plants in the backyard. And, he helped pick a ripened sweet banana pepper. Maybe there's some homemade chili in the near future.  With peppers like this, it might be the best tasting chili ever!

Open House

Davis has a new teacher this year! -and another year with Mrs Mary! It's the same classroom, but there's a lot of new things. For the past few weeks, Davis has been asking when school starts. The first full day is Monday. He was a little sad that it was time to go so soon. But, we're all excited about the start of a fun-filled year!

last one

This could be Daddy's last 2 week AnnualTraining 20 years of service is a long time.   (there was only black and white photography back when Daddy enlisted) Daddy can't wait to be a full-time dad!

butterfly

Davis is usually afraid of anything that resembles a bug. So, this is a little surprising.  Mommy & Davis found this butterfly, and he's found it to be very fascinating. It had already expired of natural causes, we're suspecting.

A Dog Day Afternoon

These long, hot summer afternoons manage to zap all of our energy. Luckily, Davis has his Ranger Dog. Ranger has a nice, slow pace and is always ready  for a hug or a gentle pat on the head from Davis. This afternoon, we were able to spend an entire hour outside  before it started storming. Nice cool breezes were a welcomed relief from the scorching heat! (Mommy did an awesome job on her test,  so the last photo is for her!)

hoping...

that Mike Moustakas gets traded to the Braves!
