Splish Splash

Rain can challenge our blog postings... It's a good thing Davis is ready for photos anytime there's a break in the clouds!

Nature Center

It's time for another trip to the NC! We've been waiting for 3 whole months! Sometimes the 'deer pose' involves a little enthusiasm... Other times, not so much. Twice the size! (as he was when we started visiting the Nature Center) DJ says he can remember that very first visit Fun times! Fun memories! Serious fun checking-out the big critter tank! A new frozen critter! One of our best-weather trips -but we were short on time to checkout everything outside (DJ says the gator is smiling, too) We'll be back in July!

Knugget of Knowledge

It's Cheslor!

Is #19 DJ's favorite Royal? Cheslor Cuthbert had an awesome 2015: *MLB All Star Futures Game* *Spent time on the Active Roster* (enough time to earn a WS ring) *Hit his 1st Major League Home Run* Cheslor also managed to have  a prominent role in the World Series highlight. When the final out was recorded,  Cheslor (wearing a jacket & knit cap)  was the first player to race out of the dugout  for the on-field celebration. CFC also signed a great photo  from this year's Spring Training for DJ!

Root Beer for Breakfast

It's a great way to start the day! Oddly enough, Gingersnap iris smell just like root beer! The original plantings were a gift from his Aunt Holly many years ago. So refreshing!

Spring Training

At the training facilities in Surprise, AZ fans can see both the Kansas City Royals and the Texas Rangers get ready for the  162 game regular season. It's huge! Each team has 6+ practice fields and their own indoor training areas It's a desert rarity: real, green grass There's still plenty of natural desert You're welcome. Maybe someday. To someday be 'on the other side of the fence' Plenty of areas were more accessible. Especially on the Rangers' side: It's Jeremy Guthrie ! We saw him last year pitching for the Royals. He will always be part of the KC team! The main stadium is shared between the teams. All other areas have "duplicate copies" from one side to the other. It's a very interesting world! We spent most of our time on the Rangers' side. Since they were hosting two minor league scrimmage games. AA Royals vs AA Rangers on one ...

@ Mt Magazine

An awesome State Park! and, it's the highest point in the state! DJ found the exact,  officially official spot. The park's lodge is currently being remodeled it's still open for business, though after the work is finished, it will be super-nice! the trail to the mountain peak is right down the road from the lodge It's time for hiking! DJ couldn't remember the last time he hiked through real trees!  the storm clean-up is still ongoing DJ spotted plenty of new greenery, like this mayapple Davis the Mountain Climber! State of Awesomeness! DJ made his ascent official! Happy trails! It was a fun afternoon! (just a little windy) awesome views! (even with the wind)
