While we were in Fayetteville, we decided to stop at the U of A campus. It was a weekday, so parking was an issue. We found a nice 'faculty only' parking spot and hopped-out. We didn't venture too far, keeping an eye on the car to make sure the parking po-po didn't show up. Davis is in the phase of finding things to either swing on or jump off. Within 2 minutes he had found the ledge on the fountain (almost 2 feet high) and this bike rack. He was having a lot of fun! We would have liked to have taken some better photos with Davis and the fountain, but there was this cuckoo-looking liberal arts major (I'm only guessing) camping-out on the grass in front of it. We'll be able to spend more time on a campus visit when the weather cools-down. Maybe Cousin Jonathan will give us a guided tour (and a parking pass) On the steps of Old Main Keep working and saving to pay your own way little dude!

EXTRA EXTRA! #1 NWA NATURALS FAN Arvest Ballpark in Springdale opened this year and we finally got a chance to take Davis! It's a modern design with a small town atmosphere. The tickets were affordable and close to the action -just off of home plate. All of the ushers are extremely nice, and they really put on a show with funny contests between innings. (note: there are not any changing tables in the Women's restrooms...they are located in the Family restrooms) The only problems we had were the long lines for the concessions -crazy to think that there would be a rush for $3 bottled water and $6 nachos. Even with the Naturals playing the Travellers, (and dollar beer night) it never got too rowdy (it had been a concern of ours when we bought the tickets). The outfield berm is a big hit with the little boy. There were inflatable jump-arounds and a giant climbing-slide, but Davis decided to opt-out of trying either one of them. Awesome : the kid's area...

Davis was saying earlier in the day that he was ready to check-out some airplanes. He was excited and we thought we might have a hard time keeping-up with him. But when the time arrived, he was a little hesitant about the whole thing. We started in the back of the museum with all the Army trucks and trailers, and it seemed to help a little. Maybe it was just too much for the little guy. Jeeps, trailers, spare tires, flags, stars -all of his favorite stuff, all together in one place! Soon he was walking with Daddy, asking questions and pointing to things He enjoyed sitting on the floor, getting his hands dirty, and pointing-out june bugs (and of course stomping on them). Here's Davis pretending to fly his toy airplanes in a classic dogfight We had an overall good time at the Arkansas Air Museum at Drake Field in Fayetteville!

Davis was so excited to visit his Gramme! It had been a long time since his last visit -things had really changed! He loved the little bridge... ...was a little unsure about the dump truck delivering topsoil... (he usually loves spotting dump trucks -maybe this was too up-close) the new ground-level trampoline was a big hit with the little boy! We can't wait to visit again soon!

At first it seemed like Davis was going to be all talk about getting in the pool at the hotel in Little Rock. He had talked about getting in as soon as he saw it when we checked-in. When the time came, Davis started quivering a little bit, so we went outside on the patio -to let him gather some courage. After a pep talk and watching some other kids splash around, Davis was feeling better about getting in the pool. He can be one determined little guy With his arm floaties, Davis got in the pool and had a great time! (there was so much splashing, we didn't get any photos of him swimming)

While Daddy had drill in Little Rock last weekend, Davis and I tagged along and got to visit the Wonder Place in Little Rock. It was a short drive from our hotel... and a very fun place to go spend some time. Pretending to grocery shop in the market! I rang the door bell, but he wouldn't let me in. :( Chickens and Eggs in the Farm house... He loved the water table, but kept thinking all the toys were his. We're still working on the whole "it's MINE!" thing, which he would exclaim ever time another child came up to play. He actually liked playing in the sand, I thought he wouldn't like it sticking to his hands, but he didn't mind at all.... He enjoyed singing and playing the piano in the tree house too!
