Kids take-over the field at Arvest Ballpark! It's Brooks Pounders! He pitched a no-hitter on Monday! (the 3rd in franchise history) It's Matt Fields! He's the 2013 Texas League Home Run Derby Champion! Davis got to introduce Matt at a game last month! It's Roman Hernandez! The star outfielder from Cuba! (DJ introduced Roman, too!) It's #24 (some guy named Brett) No, it was exciting to meet him too! A former stand-out Razorback pitcher who is quickly developing into a star center fielder!

It was about 60 degrees warmer than our last visit to Dickey-Stephens Ballpark. Thankfully, it cooled-off quickly once the sun went down. Great dance music was featured all night long! DS Ballpark has the best kid's area in all of baseball!!! Good hydration is needed for 5 innings of bounce-around madness !!! Field-level seats = great way to show-off dance moves !!! DJ's long-lost cousin hammered a solid double in the 6th inning! Made-before-your-eyes corndogs!!! Last kid standing after the bounce-arounds were put to rest for the night  Taking a break in the dug-out after racing the bases !!! Military Night @ DS Ballpark !!!

After a hotly contested game, the baseball season is now finished. With the jerseys taken (literally) off the players' backs, the tournament run is over. Now we can focus on summer vacation and having fun.

On our way to the game, we thought a small group of 25 or so might be showing-up early. Wrong! There was a large crowd of over 250 waiting in lines for the 3:00 batting practice before the 7:15 game.  Free ASG hats for the first 5,000 fans! The game featured all of the best players from the Texas League.  Great weather was on display, too. High clouds, constant breeze and low humidity! After batting practice, it was time for the Home Run Derby.  Naturals First Baseman Matt Fields won the competition! (he was one of the players Davis announced on a previous trip) It was a close competition. A player even launched a home run  that hit the top of the big bounce-around! (A long, long way) Davis was cheering like crazy for Matt to win. DJ recognizes a lot of names & faces around Arvest Ballpark. (In addition to Moose, Davis has followed several other players,  like Wil Myers, who have hit the big time playing  Major League B...

It's an angler fish! It's one of Davis' favorite sea creatures. He was thrilled to see it featured on a tee shirt. Regardless of price, we were instantly committed to buying it! However, it was on sale! ($7 for both the shirt & matching sleep pants) Happy angler fish dreams!

How did the game go? It was close until the last inning... A Midwest win! The tournament continues Monday!

The two most exciting words in sports? Forget all about the NBA championship game. It's an ideal time for an extra-deep bath and tsunami-making practice.
