Happy Birthday Mom!

Today is your special day! A day of happiness & smiles and even though I can act  like  a real turkey sometimes, you should always know- Oh, I love you so!

Ready 4 School

sometimes we get into a little bit of a hurry on our way 'out the door! but, believe it or not, it's never too frantic, or too rushed! we usually have plenty of time for some extra fun! and, there's always time for a funny story (or two...or three) but, sometimes we do have to hurry a little  -for little adjustments (had something in his shoe) after all, he's a big kid (with big feet) -and we like to have big fun! He's off to school! (it's uphill both ways)

Above the Line

Good citizenship is paying-off! Davis is on a reward system for his daily citizenship report. From tasty cold treats to cold cash, he has the motivation to do the right thing! (even without the card & rewards, he would still be a good kid)

Be Brave, Grasshopper

(don't mind a little g'hopper vomit) yeah, they can be creepy but, if you get a close look at 'em... they're kinda cool! exciting & fun! & interesting under the magnifying glass! I wonder what DJ will find next!

1st Day

It's one of those inevitable days. Summer's over. It's Back to School. But, when you're an aspiring professional sea critter specialist, you just have to comfort your cohort, and go with the flow! First day as a first grader? It's gonna be great! We love you Davis!!!

Farmer's market!

Downtown Fort Smith has a Saturday morning farmer's market! There are flowers, handmade breads, bakery items, vegetables, soaps and a lot more. We picked up some tomatoes, cucumbers and squash and we did it in the rain...Well sprinkles really. Davis has been dying to use this umbrella we got for 99 cents at A to Z. It hasn't rained much at all this summer, we didn't mind the sprinkles! (Papa and Nana sneaking up on Davis) We checked out some Fort Smith History! Then had breakfast at the Boomerang Diner in the train car! 1916 Ferris Wheel downtown was originally with a steam engine... Now it's ran with coal. We were the only ones on the ride!

#WizardofHoz..Fail!

We just knew that Davis would win this contest. After all, he's got lots of Eric Hosmer stuff,  (when he was part of the Royals' farm team in Springdale) and, DJ is a little bit cute. The signed KC Royals Hosmer bobblehead would be awesome to have next to his NWA Naturals bobblehead of Hosmer that we got earlier this year (the one he's holding in the photo). We didn't win. Maybe it's a good thing. It was (wrongly) assumed that the signed bobbleheads would be mailed to the winner (or at least have the option to pay for shipping). Au contraire mon frere. The winner could only claim the bobblehead with a ticket to that day's game. So, we almost put ourselves in a real pickle if we won. Just how badly do we want a signed bobblehead? Gas money to KC and back. Price of a game ticket. Then, we just can't buy one ticket and not watch the game... It's a good thing we didn't win.

Optimistic

about the new school year! (Open House- we got to see his new classroom!)

Officially 1st Grade

Davis got a surprise postcard in the mail today! It's from his new teacher! Our boy is a First Grader! (no more grade zero) Last year, when anyone would ask him what grade he was in, Davis responded: 'grade zero'. Puzzling for an instant, but then it makes sense. Now, as a First Grader, he's really making progress towards his high school diploma.
