Worm Watching

This morning it was too rainy to go outside. Davis did get to sit on the front porch step until the wind started blowing and getting us wet. We moved inside and closed the glass door. Davis enjoyed watching the wind blowing the trees, and he even claimed to see more than a few worms. He was asked to count how many worms he saw -of course he skipped the number five, but went up to twelve. More than once, he has counted perfectly all the way to fifteen! We like the summer rain showers, it really cools things off and greens-up the grass. As long as we have seen the last of the really bad storms, a good slow rain shower to keep the little boy entertained is more than welcomed!

Room Addition

Davis rode into his room today just as normal... he didn't know that Daddy had got him a special monster truck poster, and had put it on his closet door while he was away at school... it took him a while to notice it! he recognized most of the trucks, and he can even reach up to touch Scarlet Bandit! soon it was on to more pressing matters, like staying sharp on his mastery of the fire truck puzzle... and reading some of his new books. But he seems to really like the new addition of the poster to his room!

Un-Sprinkled Admiration

Daddy's Home!

Daddy came home after 3 long weeks in Louisiana. He thinks Davis has gotten a lot taller! Davis gives the thumbs-up to having Daddy home! -we wish that we could both go with Daddy on his next business trip. He's going to Hawaii. -checking-out a postcard Daddy sent from FtPolk He's back a day earlier than expected!

Where did Katy Go?

Davis loves playing with his cousin Katy. She came over to stay with us the other night for a bit, and Davis asks for her almost every day. Where did Katy go? or I wanna go see Katy... They had a blast on the trampoline ! I appreciated her wearing him out :) We hope Aunt B, Katy, Johnny and Uncle Keith are having a wonderful trip! Good luck in the tournament! We miss you guys!

Fireworks!

It's Fireworks Season... and Davis loves going to the tent! He's really into playing in dirt and throwing rocks.. and there's a lot of them out there! Plus there are lots of airplanes that fly over, lots of state troopers roaming the highway, motorcycles and big trucks! No one is working... just hanging out.. But we have been working... Davis loves this firework... Maybe he just loves the Monster Truck on it! and some more faves....

Hot Day, Cool Fun

Davis is an expert on recognizing fun slides. This one at the play area in the mall is definitely on his list. Sometimes when he goes down a slide multiple times, he starts getting serious. But each time down this slide, he was all smiles! He's also a big fan of water ..and loves going under and thru things and likes making new friends. When it's overly oppressive hot outside, it's nice to find fun insde where it's cool! (and maybe find a good deal on shoes)

Father's Day

It stinks having this day with Daddy out of town. It doesn't help that the little one I think is coming down with another ear infection. I have no pics. He's had fever again all weekend, but we are controlling it this time, so maybe no trip to the emergency room. It's tough on Marc being away, and tough on us having him away. Marc you are a wonderful Daddy, we love you, appreciate you and miss you so much! XOXO Update: We went to see Dr. Beene this morning, she says it's just a viral infection and we have to let it run it's course... I'm relieved no antibiotics. She said his throat is really red and tonsills are huge... :( Hopefully he'll recover soon!

Buzz & Woody

Buzz and Woody from the movie Toy Story are two of Davis' favorite characters. Buzz says a few different lines when a button is pressed, and Davis recites some of them on his own. It took us a while at first to catch-on to what he was saying. Playing with his cars, and all of a sudden he blurts-out 'I come in peace' -too funny! 'There's a snake in my boot.' He knows a few lines from Woody too. (although this Woody has lost the ability to speak after he spotaneously started talking in the middle of the night -Davis didn't notice, but it really weirded-out Mommy & Daddy!) Davis gives a sweet kiss to Buzz (yeah, this is going in the file to share at HS graduation)

Disconcertment

@ Tri-State Speedway!

We enjoyed a night of racing action at Tri State Speedway! Davis was interested in watching the fast cars going round and around during the first race, but after intermission, he was more interested in going up and down the steps. Yellow cars, red cars -Davis liked 'em! The Checkered Flag is mine! (as Davis would say) (Mommy is learning Daddy's camera) It's a dirt track, and the bleachers are close to the racing, so Davis had to endure extra scrubbing in the bath tub after we got home.

Big Car Wash

Davis likes using different items around the house as pretend car washes. a big car wash can make a small car look even smaller ...and with a little adjustment... ...it's perfect! the car wash is big, but is it big enough? for Davis to go through it? he tries really hard... he's in!

Cheese!

Calling all Monkeys

The call went out around the house -last call for bananas! Even though Davis was in the middle of role-playing (not sure exactly which super hero wears a paper sack as a hat...) -he stopped what he was doing, and ran to his chair for his monkey food. They ladies at school always tell him mommy has to go work to buy his monkey food.... it's pretty cute. did someone say bananas? -no hats allowed at the table yummy yummy!
