 Happy Chinese Tomorrow!    Of course, tomorrow never truly arrives. For us, every December 13th is Chinese Tomorrw. A time to recognize the power of procrastination. And, to get started right away by having a tasty meal! Our 5th annual Chinese Tomorrow was as delightful as a nice warm bite of lemon chicken. We talked about how nice it is to take a pause on everything and relax by enjoying some good food. Davis sampled the fried green beans and complimented our waitress on the excellent food & service. Once the fortune cookies arrived at the table, Davis chose his cookie and read his fortune aloud. It was probably the most fitting fortune, but we will never know for sure. The other fortune cookies will have to wait until tomorrow to be opened. 欢乐中国的明天！

How about having Chinese food tomorrow? Great! December 13th is Chinese Tomorrow! What is Chinese Tomorrow? When families get together for Chinese food and celebrate everything that is 'put-off' until tomorrow.   Here are a few rules: Everyone wears black (the actual day 'tomorrow' is dark & never sees a sunrise) Celebrate things that are put-off until tomorrow (find joy in those normally unpleasant procrastinations) Choose just one person to open a single fortune cookie (everyone else must wait until tomorrow ) Blog about it (post the fortune's lucky numbers as the title) Enjoy the great food! (Chinese food buffets are the best!)      欢乐中国的明天！

We talked about some school stuff and friend stuff, but mainly we talked about how nice it was to take a pause on everything and relax by enjoying some good food. Davis sampled the fried green beans  and ate more than his share of clam strips. Once the fortune cookies arrived at the table, Davis chose his cookie and read his fortune aloud. Of course, tomorrow never truly arrives. But for us, every 13th of December is Chinese Tomorrow! It's a long-standing tradition that we unknowingly started celebrating exactly one year ago. Our 2nd Annual Chinese Tomorrow was as delightful as an over-flowing plate of sweet-and-sour-sauced crab rangoon! Thankfully, we arrived early before it got too crowded and too loud. Davis shared some good stories from school about the 3 B's and how his class won a cookie-cake party. It was nice to put-aside the business of an average day and catch-up with small talk. Once the fortune cookies arrived at the table, Davis chose first and read his aloud. It was probably the most fitting fortune, but we won't know for sure. The other fortune cookies will have to wait until tomorrow before they are opened.

How about having Chinese food for dinner tomorrow? For us, it will be more than just another restaurant meal. It's an annual celebration! You've heard of Chinese New Year? Well, this isn't quite as popular. Yet. It's Chinese Tomorrow A time when families get together and celebrate everything that is put-off until tomorrow!  It's important to appreciate a day that will never see a sunrise! And, it's another example of how blogging can lead to some goofy fun! The Chinese Tomorrow idea began from one of the least-interesting posts of last year: Now, it's a fun annual tradition! Lin's Garden: It's DJ's favorite new restaurant. Good food, and always something new to try from the buffet. Equally as impressive to Davis are the fancy decorations everywhere. They can be distracting, but ice cream and fortune cookies are worthwhile incentives for him to re-focus on his plate. (feel free to borrow the lucky numbers from his fortune cookie)
