Davis is pretty proud of his new expession. He gets excited and suddenly proclaims, "number one!" (complete with the hand gesture). Sometimes it has more bravado behind it, but it's always entertaining. Davis aspires to be a number one basketball dunker ...or a number one soccer player with a little more enthusiasm this time

WOW! Ben Geren Park has the most (and best) slides that Davis has ever seen! Here's Papa checking out a Super Super Slide that everyone thought Davis might be a little timid about wanting to try. But Davis wasn't the slightest bit afraid about going all the way to the top and going down super fast! Nana was there too, helping the little sliding kid trip after trip, up and down the slides. Yeah, he's got to work on controlling his tongue, he has a tendancy to let it hang out when he's really excited. It was awesome sliding weather for January! We're adding Ben Geren Park to our list of favorite places to go!

On the way passing through the laundry room this morning, Davis decided that he had to have the orange hat off the coat rack. No matter that it has been there for many months, and he has passed by it hundreds of times without it ever capturing his attention. Today was the day he just had to have it. I'm sure Davis wonders why he sometimes gets laughs from us when he's serious. Even though the socks keep his feet warm at night, you can't help but smile. Davis prefers wearing socks over the PJ's with the built-in feet, maybe he knows that he can pull the socks off fast if he decides that he needs to tickle his toes. There was no dancing with the orange hat, it was all business! sometimes the ears get in the way of a good fitting hat it didn't take Davis long to figure out that tucking the ears inside the hat was the best look for strutting through the house, oblivious to the requests of him to go pick up his room Thanks Papa for ...

...ready to be archived on the blog and shared in the future. Like maybe before Davis' prom night? Not to embarrass him, just to share a few memories of Davis having fun. He really enjoys bath time, and his commitment to practicing good hygiene is something to be happy about. Davis is most fond of bubble baths, but really anytime he can splash around, he's thrilled. He's one happy clean dude!

If Davis had his choice, he would wear only one outfit all the time. No matter the weather or occasion, 20 sets of these airplane PJ's would be ideal in his perfect world. It has gotten to the point where he has even worn them underneath his regular clothes. To Davis, the airplane PJ's are extremely versatile. They have proven to be incredibly fast going down his slide. They offer enough sleeve area for plenty of face and nose wipes. And the airplane PJ's offer an endless potential for amusement, counting, and sound effects. To Mommy's relief, Davis also enjoys shooting them into his clothes hamper. And recently, he has also developed a fondness for stripes (at least he has more than one article of clothing with stripes).

The path leading to the Nature Center is downhill, and Davis started getting a little impatient about having to wait on us to catch up with him. He's doing better about following directions while he's 'busy' doing something else. It must be that selective hearing trait being passed-down. Once we caught-up, Davis was not in picture taking mode...it was going to be a challenging visit. At least Davis was sure to have fun checking out everything. Having a ravenous appetite for honey, yet mindful of potential dangers, the ferocious black bear and his counterpart approach the bee hive cautiously. critters critters everywhere! he's not used to things that don't make noises when you squeeze them the same turtle in the clear box recognizes the same kid in the light green shirt We enjoyed watching the birds outside from the viewing room, and the shadows were pretty neat too. From rectangle-shaped floor vents to anything that halfway resembled a moon, Davis hardly...

Comments have slowed-down, but that doesn't curb Davis' appetite from wanting to check out his blog! We enjoy looking at archived posts, and the Flickr photo album. Simple 'just to say hello' comments are much appreciated! Davis also enjoys looking at other blogs from family and friends. He's developing some degree of patience at the computer, pushing the button to replay a video, and asking for help when something goes wrong. Davis is obsessed with his blog. He enjoys the pictures, videos, and the comments! We read all of them to him, and now that he has taken a pause from talking on the phone, comments left on the blog are a way that he can keep in touch with people. We also check the old blog postings for comments -any previous postings in the archives are always open for commenting, and anonymous, unsigned comments are just as welcome to post! Mommy and Daddy might enjoy posting on the blog as much as Davis likes seei...

Today after school, Davis was happy to ride in his Big Truck... ...until the battery ran-down,  and he had to push it all the way back to the garage. It's a tough day when something like that happens. After the truck was plugged-in to the charger, Davis was happy to find his Big Ball... ...until a sudden gust blew it out of his hand, right in the midst of a perfect throw. It's a really tough day when something like that happens. After the ball was rounded-up and put away  so it wouldn't get lost to the wind,  Davis was happy to draw and name shapes with his sidewalk chalk... ...until the only piece of blue chalk  rolled down the driveway into an icky puddle. It's a tremendously tough day when something like that happens. And it's a really, really tough day when you're happy riding a tricycle... ... and all of a sudden realize that 'look out for the dog ...

It didn't take Davis long to figure out that cowboy boots were a hindrance to making fast trips down the slide. So, he's known locally as the Barefooted Lawman. Davis is serious about maintaining the peace around the house and in the backyard. He's constantly watching over the outside doggies for any signs of mischief (Troop Dog has been cited numerous times for bullying Marley). Davis also has his Woody (from Toy Story) action figure as a sidekick -it's actually Davis' first doll, but Daddy objects to calling it that. During off-duty hours, Davis is a big car enthusiast. Here he is perfecting the sound effects on a 2008 Fast Car. It's a tricky procedure because it has to be tuned just right. He has a nice collection of other cars, and sometimes has to be pulled out of the garage to eat his dinner. With a tip of the hat, Deputy Davis slides off into the sunset.

Davis is a big fan of watching YouTube videos (mainly of himself). Sometimes he watches other videos, and one of his favorites is the Dramatic Chipmunk . Here's a video of Davis doing his impersonation:

Davis does pretty well feeding himself with his utensils, but there's something about spaghetti that makes him want to be a little more hands-on. With his shirt removed for safety, he's ready for action! Davis disavows any responsibility for spaghetti that might end up on the walls somehow, it can really fly off his plate we think Davis has developed taste receptors on his fingers ahh.

Davis was excited to hear that he was going to get to meet Mommy's friend Tracy and her son Graeme at the park! They were visiting here for the Holiday's from Germany! It's crazy to see her with a little one, just about a year ago I saw her and she wasn't even showing, now she has this adorable little man! He was such a happy boy too! Isn't that cute? Tracy and her Mom were impressed with my idea... I can't take credit for it though, it worked great, I can't recall where I saw it. I think in a parenting magazine! Graeme loved it, Davis wasn't so sure about the little man behind him. It was great to see them, but too short of a visit for us... and who can chat while chasing a two year old around the park? It's nearly impossible. We can't wait to see you guys again in April. Maybe we'll have some adult time too!
