Happy Birthday Mommy!

I love you when I'm happy, I love you when I'm bored. Although it may not always show, I am thankful that you're there for me in good times and in bad. Sometimes I get frustrated, and don't know how to say it, but remember that I am the person I am -all because of you! So Happy Birthday Mommy! whatever shall I give you for a gift? You already have plenty of cars and stuff. How about no more diaper changing? -working on it, soon enough!

Baseball, Fireworks, Symphony

Davis is a big fan of all three! We got tickets to go see the NWA Naturals play Sunday. The NWA Symphony will be playing a post game concert, along with a fireworks display! (regular $10 tickets are $20 for this game) The game starts at 4pm, but we plan on showing-up around 5:30, so we can have plenty of energy for the 7th inning stretch (take me out to the ballgame song) and enjoy the post game festivities! Sunday is Mommy's birthday, so we'll be singing to her as well!

Gearing Up

Davis is getting ready for another season of Razorback Football! With the first game coming up Saturday, there's a lot to do. Making sure the game jersey fits Proper nutrition for game day endurance He's just about got the Arkansas Fight Song perfected, and he's ready to Call those Hogs! and practicing techniques for getting to the fridge really fast during commercial breaks! so much to do, it can really tire-out a little boy, but he'll be in good game shape Saturday!

Can Do

Daddy: "do you want Daddy to make you a good lunch?" Davis: "No." Daddy: "do you want Daddy to make you a not-so-good lunch?" Davis: "Yeah, I want a not-so-good lunch." Can Do.

Carol Ann Cross Park

We thought it would be a good time to put-on a fancy shirt and go into town. It was raining at Well's Lake, so we went around the rain cloud to Carol Ann Cross Park and stayed dry. Davis loves to swing really high and look-out across the water ...and he likes to climb up high too we thought it would be fun to wave at a couple of ducks 'did the ducks see you?' little boy has his doubts 'oh, look, here they come!' little boy is scared that the ducks are coming to get him! 'is that duck wearing a hat?' still a little frazzled by the close encounter, Davis checks-out the sculptures It was nice to take advantage of the abnormally cool mid-August afternoon, and so happy that Mommy will be home from Buffalo later today!

Back to the Races!

Davis loves watching fast cars, and for him, Tri-State Speedway is as good as the Indianapolis 500. He cheers-on the drivers and has a great time. It was perfect weather for being outside too! Davis followed his favorite car during each race (never saw any car with #95, but there's always next time) Davis spots a problem in Turn 3 cornering on a dirt track is fun to watch! Little Boy was coached to yell: Green Flag- 'Drop the Hammer!!!' and, 'The Checkered Flag is Mine!!!' Davis stayed engaged with the racing all night- from 7:30 till about 9:45, and he spent most of the time sitting in his L'McQueen lawn chair. Usually, after 5 minutes, he's done with the chair and wants to start running around. the high light of the night -a real life Mater, Davis loved it each time it came out!

Artiste

Davis' Gramme gave him this chair and a table for his play room. We moved the chair into the den so he could keep-track of the Olympics and finish his surprise artwork for Mommy when she gets back from Buffalo, NY! Daddy forgets: 1. to log-on under his name to create this post 2. to match-up Davis' PJs 3. to allow only one outside Doggie inside at a time (a lot of crumbs got on the kitchen floor, and I was too lazy to find a broom) Davis misses Mommy! he comforts Puppy by telling him/her that Mommy will be back soon Here's one of Davis' previous works from school -entitled 'Rain Spider'

2008 Summer Olympics

Little boy is a big fan of the Olympics. He likes watching the swimming, boxing, and running events. And of course, the medal ceremonies when the USA wins a gold medal, and they play the national anthem! He likes when Mommy gets excited about the races and when the USA finishes first! ...but soon after the PJ's go on, he's exhausted, and falls asleep in the middle of a big event, surely dreaming of winning a gold medal for jumping.

Swimming

Even though it has cooled-off some, the pool still feels great! Davis is always ready to take a dip! He likes getting splashed he knows that he's getting better at kicking his feet, and soon, he might be able to get from one side of the pool to the other! we thought Marley Dog might have borrowed his boat, but we found it, and it still floats Davis is looking forward to a few more pool parties before summer ends!

Breakfast with Grandpa AJ

We like going to J&J's in Alma to meet Grandpa AJ for breakfast. Especially now that he has a convertible! Davis loves to watch the headlights go up and down, and he likes to sit in the car and work the radio. The Miata seems to be just his size -someday, he'll be able to go for a ride in it! Until then, we're fine with the short stack of yummy pancakes until he starts wanting to go to a drive-thru in the convertible.

Nature Center

Davis loves to go places. So it's handy to have a place nearby that has a lot of the stuff that Davis loves: hills, water, bridges, and a giant birdhouse. Davis has started to enjoy being scared, so he paid extra attention to all of the snake exhibits -scary to see a moving snake up close... ...and kinda funny, after Daddy admitted that he is scared of snakes too little boy wasn't the least bit scared of the new frozen coyote ...of course the bobcat that's always been there as long as we've been making trips to the NC scared him pretty good! (the obligatory GBH photo) we can't wait to go back!!
