 With the cooler weather, we decided it would be a perfect day to walk the nature trail.  The entire trail that encircles Wells Lake is paved and chigger-free!   and there's plenty of surprises!  twists, turns, noises, and fun! Master of the Web  (at the birdwatching blind)  Davis' attempt to fly-away like the mockingbird  we also found a turtle-  would Davis be brave enough to pick it up? Davis is an excellent trail hiker. Fun outdoors. Davis is ready.

It's Constitution Park at Chaffee Crossing. It's used to be one of our favorite parks. Now, the parking lot and entrance have been cabled-off and marked 'Off Limits'. When the park was still included in the boundaries of FtChaffee, cook-outs and fishing derbies for the Scouts used to held there.  Now, we can only look at the park from a dead-end road. The mature backdrop of fountain grass and the reflective pond, calming serenity.   Maybe something nice will be added to the park, and it will re-open some day. Hope springs eternal.

Davis enjoys going to the gym at Fort Chaffee. Basketball, volleyball, punching bags, and: an awesome rock climbing machine! Davis took to it like a gecko.

Davis is at the point where some critters are becoming less scary and more interesting. When we saw a snail inching across the sidewalk, I jokingly asked Davis to pick it up and check it out. Surprisingly, he didn't have any hesitation about handling the slimy snail. Snails this week, next week, grass snakes.
