Bell Park

It's the scenic side of Greenwood! G'wood might be 2nd to Pine Bluff in football, but they are winners in the Parks & Rec department.

New Favorite Park

It's Torraine Lake! Just down the road at Chaffee Crossing! Great scenery! Not too crowded, either. We saw a few courteous cyclists & one squirrel. The park isn't mapped (or even mentioned) on the Sebastian County website, but it should be! Or, maybe it should remain a hidden gem!

Peabody Park

it's behind the Peabody Hotel  Davis didn't hesitate at all- the most superistastical slide of all time  a long way back to the top he never seemed to tire and...a maze of tunnels! not really wanting to go anywhere else- ever!  until...  we went to the very top of the old RR bridge and saw a lot of cool stuff!  we took some time for thinking, imagining, and pretending  and learning about trains and tracks  practiced making faces (the mad Ranger Dog face) The Eye The Happy to be on Spring Break Face

More pics from Sunday....

Shea Park

Shea Park is a small neighborhood park that was dedicated to a little girl, Shea, who along with her family, died in the I-40 bridge collapse in Webbers Falls, OK on May 26, 2002. We love this park and Davis really enjoys riding his bike around it and taking a break to play on the slides, swings, see saws, monkey bars and the merry go round! Sunday was the perfect day for a ride...

Off Limits

It's Constitution Park at Chaffee Crossing. It's used to be one of our favorite parks. Now, the parking lot and entrance have been cabled-off and marked 'Off Limits'. When the park was still included in the boundaries of FtChaffee, cook-outs and fishing derbies for the Scouts used to held there.  Now, we can only look at the park from a dead-end road. The mature backdrop of fountain grass and the reflective pond, calming serenity.   Maybe something nice will be added to the park, and it will re-open some day. Hope springs eternal.

Constitution Park

it's located on Chaffee Crossing and offers lots of fun for the big boy! keeping good balance keeping an eye out while going over the bridge always time for dancing! having fun on the swing spotting the first jonquil blooms of the year! a handful of rocks and a pocket full of wishes checking-out the splash rings from some well-aimed rocks will the fun ever end? time to go... (and missing Mommy) Daddy has a special dinner planned. (a can of spaghetti-o's and applesauce)

Fun Day at the Park

The other day was nice and sunny, so we made a trip to the park. Of course, there were no objections from Davis. It had been quite a while since he had gone super fast down a super slide! He has gotten noticeably more independent : ( Happy times in the swing Focused on the fun!

Some Springhill Shine

Springhill has to be one of Davis' favorite parks. It's never too crowded, and has all types of slides and swings. He can also see the river and the bridge from the playground. He's started trying new things, like climbing up the ladder by himself and climbing up everything else he can find. He'll watch other kids to see if they try anything different that he may want to imitate. Tomorrow we'll post Davis' trip to the other side of the bridge- down by the river!

Springhill Park. Loving this weather!

Davis said... "who wants to buy some tickets?" ha ha! I have no idea where he came up with that one! Wednesday night we had a play date with Garrett and Reed! We had the playground at Springhill all to ourselves... The boys played really well... and Davis even showed Garrett a few tricks too! He's taking a rest here... Erin and Reed! on the swinging bridge... Davis may have bit the dust here, but I think he was just pretending!
