Traveler Discontent

Test Location

The cooler weather gives us a chance to take more photos (like we don't take enough as it is!) We're trying to find a good location with some wildflowers as a background. It can be challenging, any place with traffic can cause disruptions -especially when a Mustang passes-by. Chaffee Crossing has some nice open fields that are awash with color and are somewhat isolated from traffic. We were a little disappointed to see that one of our favorite places -Constitution Park- has been blocked-off with 'No Trespassing' signs. Bummer. (a blue or white shirt would be better?) (the field is just south from Deer Trails Golf Course) (will need to bring some bug repellent next time) (the surrounding weeds were fairly tall, so we used the box for Davis to stand on) We'll go back when it's sunny (and with a different colored shirt)

More from the ballpark

Even though the Naturals lost the game, Davis had a blast! A new t-shirt that features his favorite celebrity. Plenty of open spaces to enjoy the game (and race his cars) he even signed a few items for his fans

Ballpark Fun

Perfect weather for baseball!! A Championship Series Game for the Naturals, Friday Night Fireworks (win or lose -after the game) -and a Free hot dog & drink for kids! (no such thing as youth price tickets, -kids are charged full admission) All summer long, Davis recognized Strike the mascot on TV, remembering him from last year. Now, Davis meets him in-person! (this moment was worth a good chunk of the admission price)  Is it possible for a big boy to have full price fun? The challenge is on! The Jump-around/Giant Obstacle:  $5 for unlimited access. The girl selling the armbands had seen hundreds of kids over the course of the season. Once Davis started, she followed him to the big climbing wall to help him. She was amazed (we were as well) that Davis was able to climb the wall by himself! He's a fast climber too! (it must be all the bananas he's eating) Davis must have made at least 10 trips on this thing -he never got tired. ...

The Best of Both Parks

We drove to Springdale right after school on Friday! (the park features very elaborate facilities) Davis really likes his new book! The best part: Mimi and Davis on the swings! Then it was time to go to the ballpark- Game 4 of the Championship Series between the Rock Hounds and the Naturals. -the best part of the ballpark is yet to come!

Wormologist

Last week, Davis learned about worms in his class. And now, he is an certified Wormologist! He's excited about the possible career options!

Bowled-Over

Davis had a blast bowling! It was his first foray into the world of embroidered silk shirts and rental shoes.  We will have to go back soon- for more fun! (and to take more pictures and videos!)

Welcome to my Class

Ms Edie rewards good behavior with stars on a chart. Davis was excited to show it to us  -so many stars! what the ? Our awesome son has only two stars? he might be looking for alternate transportation soon Seriously though, Davis is doing very well at school. (he's showing how big his lunch tray is -it seems to get bigger everyday, and he carries it all by himself!) -guess he couldn't have L-McQ's #95, so he settled for #9 We're keeping a close eye on the reward chart, and really working on listening & doing as asked the first time!
