Really? Really. Not Really.

4 years ago: You discovered some temporary "cowboy cuteness."    2 years ago: You lost some cuteness by discovering a permanent marker.

Shopping with Davis

in preparation of our first Cardinal's game! (it's fun to go to a new city and be a fan for a day!) This was the top pick (except for DJ): The team store @ Busch Stadium is huge! This was Davis' favorite item in the store. He's picked-out giant foam fingers at other places too. Out of the 20 million toys he has, there's not one foam finger. Not sure what the appeal is. But it's strong. It took some skilled negotiating to get out  of the store without it. (he didn't want the foam talon, of course) We passed on the $42 hat and the $17 lego baseball player, too C'mon! No kid's size Musial jerseys...just shameful... For all the Razorback/Cardinal fans that still like HDN Davis said that I was not allowed to send  this photo to anybody: When asked if I could post this on the blog, he replied, "Oh, sure."

Fluffy

It's Davis' emergency 'comfort item' for his  nap time at school. Fluffy was born of necessitated haste when Baby Monkey was unintentionally left at home a few months ago.  Fluffy is a left-handed wool glove insert stuffed with its right-handed counterpart.  A black marker was utilized to add  even more realism. This morning we left the house without monkey, but we had Baby Trooper who had spent the night in the car. Davis chose to take Fluffy instead.

whoopsie

Davis fell into the toilet bowl in our bathroom while doing his sudden business. He wasn't injured, just a little shocked -and his PJ shirt got wet. We remedied the traumatic event by finding him a dry shirt right away. One of Daddy's shirts were nearby, and Davis said it was just his size, with a smile.

Swing!

It's one of his favorite things to do now. Lifting himself between two pieces of furniture and swinging himself back and forth. He's got some strong little boy muscles! (and a serious farmer's tan) Davis hasn't been too interested in learning about his potty, but we're still trying. He's mastered some difficult things already, so it's just a matter of re-prioritzing them. But he does need to hurry -we could use the savings from not having to buy diapers to buy gas this summer!

cookie face

Sometimes Davis likes a little snack while he's watching football games with Daddy. Since he finished-off two helpings of applesauce, Davis was due for a special treat! A chocolate cookie was presented, and the D-monster snapped it up and managed to get some of it in his mouth. Davis doesn't have too much time for football, he's been busy with all of his new toys and books. It's a very good thing to have a lot of fun entertainment around with the cold temperatures outside (although Mommy and Davis did bundle up and go for a stroller ride around the neighborhood this afternoon). Davis' newest word is 'dog-gone-it' -he kind of drags it out with a dramatic tone after he misses a shot on his new basketball goal. Yesterday in the car, Davis put together his longest sentence to date: "I don't know where Monkey is". We usually keep Monkey's identical twin in the car as a travel buddy, but somehow, Davis snuck it inside the house. He now slee...

Yummy Chocolate Pudding!

All Smiles on a Rainy Day

Davis' time outdoors was limited by the stormy weather, but he enjoyed the light sprinkles. He likes being outside and showing-off his walking skills- backwards, circles, no-look, zombie, and the chatter-walk. He takes requests, laughs and praises himself- he's quite the little performer!   Later, Davis tried his first real carrot. You can see his deliberation and his final verdict. He will be sticking to his bananas, applesauce, and sweet potato for the near future. However, he does well at trying new food and always gives it a fair chew!   With steady rain and an unsuccessful taste test, he had to resort to smelling his own foot for entertainment.     (new words this week: baseball, hungry, hi)

Rough Week!

I had to go back to Little Rock this week for more training with my new job. It's been very emotional for me having to leave and be away from my guys for such a long time. It's much harder than I thought it was going to be. The first couple of days I was gone (the first week) were nice... Like a much needed vacation.... then came the tears. I know Daddy has been taking very good care of Davis and has had lots of good help from Grandparents! But last week I became an emotional wreck... First was the new head wound, from the brick on the outside of our house... It really scared us.. so much I don't think we have taken a picture of it. It's a pretty gruesome bruise. Then Wednesday when my mom kept Davis for the day... she called and said... he's sleeping all day. He never does that, and doesn't really take more than one nap a day! And he had a fever, and wasn't eating and was sleeping! I was panicking. I can't tell you how close I was to...

Branson...

We had a great weekend in Branson. Loved the new Branson Landing Mall. We spent a lot of our time there just hanging out by the lake and at the Bass Pro Shop. Davis got a cute camo hat and onesie and a lot of other things! Thanks everyone who made this a great weekend. We even got a visit from Gramme Faith, Aunt Lori and Uncle Mike! So glad they could come to see us! Davis was so good for the trip. He was pretty worn out by all the days end. We went to see the Dixie Stampede and had a tough time there at first. He was scared and upset by all the noise that was going on, but we made it thru, he finally settled down and started looking at all the things going on around him! Davis' first tooth coming thru, this weekend his second one popped thru too! Sleeping at the mall... He was a wonderful boy the whole time! Playing with AC after their bath! Davis found a turtle to play with this morning, my lens fogged up when i took the camera outside... Dav...

YUMMY...

Davis has a long way to go before he really picks up on this eating from a spoon. We got a little messy with the cereal and peaches mix. Don't think his tummy liked the peaches too well as he spit up all over me afterwards. We are having fun trying though... he likes it when I make the smacking sound with my mouth, yes I'm trying to get him to swallow instead of spitting most of it back out with his cute little spitting thing he loves to do, yes he does it all of the time even when he's not eating. I guess I should start using a bib on him during the feedings. He got it all over him that day. He also likes to try to put his whole hand in his mouth after I feed him so he really gets it everywhere! But he's so adorable I don't get too upset.

8 week pics and check up with Dr. Beene

8weeks old 12lbs and 24inches. Dr. Beene said you were perfect and so handsome which we already know and you hear all the time from me and daddy. We are so lucky! Enjoy the pics of our little man.
