Spider

Davis has seen one on TV (and even touched it)... Now he has one of his own! (thank you Nana!) It's remote-controlled, and had Davis a little concerned at first. For close to a week, Davis would look -but not touch it Davis touches the spider for the first time Davis calls his Nana to tell her the big news!

Game Ready!

Thanks to Auntie Martha! Davis loves his new Razorback blanket! He does go to a lot of outdoor events, and now he can bring his Razorback Pride with him!

It's a Steel Drum, Mon

Recently, Davis has changed his instrument of choice. He hauls Marley's old food container from the kitchen into the den. Then the incessant percussive rhythms begin. Davis has figured-out how to make different tones (?) by hitting his drum on different areas. He puts his entire body into the performance too. It was entertaining the first few times. Now we're considering a 'middle of the night relocation of the drum to the attic' -would that be wrong? (afterall, how much practice do professional steel drum players need?)

More?

For Davis, more is always better. If you would like to see more photos of the D-Monster, there's a new link to see them. It's completely different than the old Yahoo Photos page ( more variety of Davis photos). Some of the photos have never been posted on the blog. Here's how to get there: click on the word ' more .' Or, you can always go to the sidebar on the right side of the blog- under 'Choose Your Favorite Photo' -click on the "Flickr" link and open-up the category you want to view. Here's a sample of two photos that, until now, had never been posted: No More Forcing the Red Ball into Mommy's Favorite Red Bowl and Launching it into the Air Like Daddy Does. At the time, this photo was deemed 'not-blog-worthy'. Maybe it was the hair or the 'bottom-lip-attitude'. No More Cubbies Baseball -Davis in the act of sliding safely into home plate. (I was saving this photo for a blog posting about the Cubs wi...

PURR-PULL!

Davis favorite color to pronounce is 'pur-ple'. He says it very deliberately and often it's combined with a lot of spray and drool. In addition, he seems to go out of his way to say the word. If he's too close to me, I sometimes avoid asking him 'what color' something is. I am thinking that even if he knows the correct color, he'll choose to pepper me with his 'pur-ple' response. He still gets plenty of practice with his colors, and he can spot each new hiding place for his box of crayons after Daddy picks them up.

Clock.

Davis likes seeing his favorite things on the blog. Clocks are on his Top 5 list for sure (maybe right after the Moon). Papa and Nana's clock is his favorite though, he asks to 'touch it' every time he visits. Luckily, our clock is just 'ok, and doesn't require frequent Davis-lifts and little fingerprint cleanings. He's probably day-dreaming about the other clock in this picture!

Bye-Bye Garbage Truck

Davis thinks the garbage truck is very cool. It's big, noisey, and goes around taking stuff. It brightens his day seeing it stop in front of the house, but he is a little despondent once it leaves. The garbage truck is Davis' only solace after missing school on a Tuesday, but he'll recover once Daddy offers him a melon-flavored Gogurt.
