Part 4: The Big Pile of Sand

Located behind the golf course, the daffodil patch had another particular item of interest for Davis. The big pile of sand. Running through the sand, climbing up the side, and... Scooting. His jeans were falling-down from the weight of all the sand! Yeah, the little boy had a few pounds of sand in his shoes, pants, pockets, and everywhere else. We still might be shaking and washing-out sand by the time this series of daffodil patch posts ends!

Part 3: The Bouquet

We learned from our mini-outing that Davis can be a challenging subject to photograph when he's 'out in the wild' by himself (a lot of running around, not staying still for long). Fun for him, but a little frustrating for the photographers. Next time, we will invite his older cousin to go along. Davis likes to mimic behavior, and really looks up to AC. He's got the extra-cheesy smile perfected. ...but the natural expressions of joy are intermixed between 10 minute energy explosions (usually we are trying to catch our breath, and unable to get a pic) But, overall, he's a good little trooper, and always stops long enough to notice some natural beauty (or an airplane flying overhead). Mommy picked a lovely bouquet for her growing little boy:

StPatrick's Day Craziness

Mommy started it by cooking clover-shaped pasta: Daddy trumped her by allowing Davis to explore her make-up kit: Lipstick doesn't have much to do with StPattie's Day, but he is wearing a special shirt. Yeah, you really can't see the shirt, but even if you could, it would be difficult to get past the lipstick (good job Daddy). Who's ready for Lucky Leprechaun Kisses?

Part 2: The Bashful Botanist

We had perfect weather for our mini-outing at Chaffee Crossing (the public side of Fort Chaffee). We missed the majority of the daffodil blooms by a few days, but there were still plenty of different, 'heirloom type' daffodils that had just started. the classic 'Butter & Eggs' daffodils (most of the solid yellow [perhaps of the King Alfred variety] were fading) Davis was impressed with Daddy's self-proclaimed expertise with daffodils. Davis provided exact height measurements of the plants that were critical in the identification process. Mommy & Daddy receive a bashful acknowledgment of a job well done from the wonderful little botanist.

Part 1: Happiness Found

This evening, we loaded-up the Jeep and went behind Deer Trails Golf Course at Chaffee Crossing to check-out some daffodil patches. Looking: -literally, load-up...Davis liked the view from way up high. Searching: Many of the daffodils had already finished blooming, but there were a few patches still at their peak. Seeking: Davis enjoyed the blooms and being outside. Listening: He heard woodpeckers and owls, too. Happiness found. Mommy and Daddy were both taking pictures, and we haven't fully sorted-thru all of them yet! -more posting from our excursion to follow!

Couch Comfort

When Davis has trouble sleeping in his room, Mommy & Daddy can hear him stirring in his bed on the monitor. In a few minutes, he will either start calling for one of us, or he'll show-up bedside with his stuffed animals and blanket. Last night, however, the little guy quietly slipped out of his bed, and curled-up on the couch. It's another example of Davis being more independent, choosing to deal with a bad dream, or some other discomfort in his own way. : (

Hard Work

With the warmer weather, there's lots of work to do outside. Plenty of rocks that need to be moved around. Making the bird bath more level (or as Davis says, the bird tub). Plenty of spring-time blooms to keep the little worker happy. ...and airplanes flying way up in the sky!
