Mommy acquired Davis a fancy guitar! Now he has something just his size for his musical endeavors.

Davis showed-off his dance moves and other tricks today for his Great Grandmother Tootsie. He had some stories to tell, and did a lot of bragging (big boy underwear & jumping ability). Davis is a 4th generation 'Jim' (as the middle name).

Saturday we went on a road trip after tee ball practice. We intended to find Fern Gully, but ended-up taking a prolonged drive down gravel roads following the Mulberry River. There weren't too many places that Davis could get out and run around, but he did get a good nap. We did find some nice scenery (Davis loved seeing the hundreds of motorcycles around Turner Bend) and plenty of bugs- lately, Davis has been freaking-out over bugs, but this time his was a having a good time shoo-ing them away. We'll be doing more advance planning before our next road trip!

Pulling the car over to the side of the road. Usually a dreaded experience. Speeding ticket. Flat tire. Davis has given us a whole new way of looking at life. The simple happy. Nothing planned. Nothing bought. Happiness found in what was before, taken for granted.

They're a fearless group of tee-ballers. The Jellybeans. This morning they took to the field for their first practice. They tirelessly practice the fundamentals. They endure incessant coaching and encouragement. And they always find the time to share a smile with the fans. The Jellybeans' first game is May 2nd.

Davis starts practice with his tee ball team tomorrow morning. It seems like it was only yesterday that he was in diapers, and now he's a budding athlete (he has his own baseball cleats). Davis is fortunate to have cousins that enjoy helping him learn the sport. he's developing a strong appetite to support his activity level (he's at the ready position with his hands, awaiting the call to 'dig-in') it's da - licious ! (call Mommy if you haven't heard the story) after dessert...the athletes compete in the 'most-snake-like-tongue' competition practicing an advanced sneaking maneuver with Cousin BD . an unexpected fall caused the fun to come to a halt (he bit his bottom lip -slightly) (the incident allowed everyone to cool-down & take a break from the heat) Davis is looking forward to a fun start of the tee ball season tomorrow!

Davis was really excited today about his return visit to the Nature Center. There was a school bus in the parking lot when we got there! (one of Davis' favorite vehicles) and he could see some flags down the sidewalk (we really are working with Davis to point using his appropriate finger) (in another year it won't be too funny) we saw a lot of birds and recognized a lot from previous visits big scary snakes -first time Davis has wanted to stand close to the big deer GBH he had some fun in his favorite exhibit plenty of fish tanks...the NC had a lot more fish this time! and he remembered to give a gentle high five to the frozen bobcat on his way out ...and in another 3 months, we'll be back!
