9 months old...

Wow, what a week and weekend it was. Davis, Nana and I ventured to Little Rock last Thursday to visit Misty and Blakely. It was a similar site to me when we got to see him in the NICU. Davis went thru the same thing, almost... but didn't have to have oxygen or a feeding tube. There is nothing wrong with him now! Thank you to everyone for all your thoughts and prayers. This sometimes happens when babies are born via C-Section. Dr's say that since they don't get that PUSH they get when you have them regularly, they don't always get the fluid out of the lungs initially. That was it. So similar to what I went thru with Davis. Since they were in Mena, AR they sent them to the AR Children's Hospital, because they are affiliated with LR, and not Fort Smith. It was just very scary to us at first as to why we had to go to LR if it wasn't so serious. Anyway, ALL is Well and they should be going home tomorrow!
Today was Davis' 9 month check up! He did very well considering we had to wait there for 2 hours to see the Dr. I was trying to keep him out of the floor, but as you guys know at this age it's almost impossible. That's where he wants to be all of the time. I just kept thinking ugh... this floor all the sick babies... ugh.. even though there is a sick waiting room. Not everyone sees that sign or pays attention to it. Then you have to put up with some crazy crazy people that you'd rather not ever have a conversation with who just keep talking and talking... even though you are pretending not to pay attention to them. I was so annoyed. It reminded me of that time I had to go to defensive driving school and there was a woman in there who had to tell a story about what has happened to her every 10 min and all you want to do is get the heck out of there!! I picture it similar to hell. No one cares! I didn't care or believe a word they were saying! You all know the people i'm talking about.
Davis' stats are good. He's 18lbs 11oz (25th%) and 29.5 inches long (85%) so we are somewhere in the middle when you add it all up right?
No shots or anything this time not until January. It's only 3 months and I keep telling myself, I'll have seen Marc by then... YEAH!! He'll have been home on leave by then and I can't imagine what it's going to be like. Strange having an extra set of hands, I probably won't know what to do with myself. I'm sooo looking forward to it!
Sleeping... Davis is sleeping like a champ(only in his crib, not in hotels or at Nana's). I put him in bed around 8 or 8:30 and he sleeps thru the night till around 7:3o or 8:30 in the morning. It's wonderful. Not much on taking naps if we aren't driving in the car. It can be a chore to get him to nap for too long. Sometimes 30 to 45 minutes. Not too consistant though.
Eating... I haven't found anything this baby will not eat! I've just about let him try everything except for the foods with meat in them. He has had some chicken off my plate and some of my homemade vegetable beef soup. I'm so lucky he's not a picky eater!
Talking... he's not waving bye bye yet and the Dr's seemed a little disappointed by that, and I can't get him to say much but Dada after me. But he babbles all the time. I'm not that concerned. I just don't like the words bye bye... I don't like saying them... I'm more of a see you later kind of gal. He babbles sounds like... bee bee bee and da da da and mmmma mmmma mmmma, and my favorite one... brrrng brrrng kinda like a telephone ring. It's cute! He's really exercising his range too... getting very expressive with his tone at some times. Really high pitch whine when I won't let him get the remote. (I've tried to give him one without batteries, but i don't know why it's not as good as the other one!)
Movement... he get's around so fast. He's cruising around the furniture very slowly, but crawling like super baby! He's very careful when he wants to move away from it to sit down and crawl. I've been working on him reaching out to me and walking but he likes to get down and crawl. I'm not in any real hurry for him to walk!:) He seems to use his left hand more than his right, but uses them both.
Let me know if I forgot something. I'm going to add the pics now of him playing around the house and the Dr's office today.

欢乐中国的明天!

How about having Chinese food tomorrow?      Great! December 13th is Chinese Tomorrow! What is Chinese Tomorrow? When families get together for Chinese food and celebrate everything that is 'put-off' until tomorrow.   Here are a few rules: Everyone wears black (the actual day 'tomorrow' is dark & never sees a sunrise) Celebrate things that are put-off until tomorrow (find joy in those normally unpleasant procrastinations) Choose just one person to open a single fortune cookie (everyone else must wait until tomorrow ) Blog about it (post the fortune's lucky numbers as the title) Enjoy the great food! (Chinese food buffets are the best!)  欢乐中国的明天!
