Fleece Navidad

A sincere effort was made to find a retro-style Christmas sweater. The kind of sweater that only the bravest of the brave could wear once a year. One with an awkward-posed snowman pattern. Or one with an extravagantly beaded Christmas tree with a speech bubble declaring "Fleece Navidad!"

We tried.

There is a fine line between staged embarrassment and goodhearted fun. We went back and forth across that line with the 'best' Christmas fashion from years (or decades) past:

The Full Turtle-Neck with Horizontal Stripes:
Love Me Some Candy Cane!

The Red Knit Sweater-Vest:
(polka-dot pants would have been better)

Red Knit Sweater Vest Goes Nuclear:
(also a wise choice to wear during deer season)
(we felt safe, being across the street from
the Game & Fish Commission)

   Here's to a Fun
  Holiday Season!

欢乐中国的明天!

How about having Chinese food tomorrow?      Great! December 13th is Chinese Tomorrow! What is Chinese Tomorrow? When families get together for Chinese food and celebrate everything that is 'put-off' until tomorrow.   Here are a few rules: Everyone wears black (the actual day 'tomorrow' is dark & never sees a sunrise) Celebrate things that are put-off until tomorrow (find joy in those normally unpleasant procrastinations) Choose just one person to open a single fortune cookie (everyone else must wait until tomorrow ) Blog about it (post the fortune's lucky numbers as the title) Enjoy the great food! (Chinese food buffets are the best!)  欢乐中国的明天!

Happy New Year!
