Davis' neck pillow critter got some repair work done. He was excited that his buddy that he has known for years was back.
When Davis asked to have the critter repaired, I was tempted to place the thing in long-term storage. He would either forget altogether, or I could say that I was still working on the repair. Davis is turning 8 in a matter of weeks, after all. At some point, the comfort critters have to permanently relocate, right? Going against my own thought process, I mended the thing and even gave it a bath.
I wasn't sure why I did it -until I saw this photo on my Flipboard:
It's a recent pixel-by-pixel re-colorization of a photo taken in London during WW2.
As long as Davis sees a practical use for his critters, they will be welcomed, mended, and cleaned (at least until he's 10).
