Nature Center

Time flies at the Janet Huckabee
Arkansas River Valley
Nature Center!
It's our last NC visit of 2015!
Changing of the seasons outside...
and, some re-assuring non-changes inside.
DJ found a good spot
for viewing.
He noticed something familiar
It's the giant birdhouse!
Ssshh...
(it was feeding time, for some)
-certain other critters are fed
by NC professionals in private-
-skilled professionals, we're sure
DJ pondered what it would be like
to do a job & be oblivious to danger.
Able to block-out a buzzing,
militant swarm.
Or navigate through dense,
tri-leafed greenery.
It's all in a day's work
at the Nature Center.
But, it's not all work &
no play at the NC!
There's plenty of serious fun
to be had.
& trails waiting to be explored!
& mysteries of the deep!
We didn't see a lot of fall color,
but there were a few trees
that cooperated.
The cool weather allowed us
to spend the majority of
our time outside!
We even found some wildflowers
that were in full bloom!
This was our best visit
of the entire year!
When we return to the
River Valley Nature Center,
DJ will be 10 years old!
Lovin' our time at the NC!
With a gentle high five,
we say to the frozen bobcat...
"We'll be back in 2016!"

欢乐中国的明天!

How about having Chinese food tomorrow?      Great! December 13th is Chinese Tomorrow! What is Chinese Tomorrow? When families get together for Chinese food and celebrate everything that is 'put-off' until tomorrow.   Here are a few rules: Everyone wears black (the actual day 'tomorrow' is dark & never sees a sunrise) Celebrate things that are put-off until tomorrow (find joy in those normally unpleasant procrastinations) Choose just one person to open a single fortune cookie (everyone else must wait until tomorrow ) Blog about it (post the fortune's lucky numbers as the title) Enjoy the great food! (Chinese food buffets are the best!)  欢乐中国的明天!

Happy New Year!
