Nature Center

We're happy to be back at the Janet Huckabee Arkansas River Valley Nature Center! We noticed some nice changes since our last visit 3 months ago! There's a new ginormous turtle tank, more fish, & snakes! However, the less-than-enthusiastic deer pose was due to concern over the Chocolate Tarantula. It's tank was empty. The boy is inching closer to the bluebird's wing. All was quiet at the indoor fish pond -which is most favorable to catching... some real lunkers! Fun times! Somewhat scary! But neat at the same time! Perfect outside weather! Working muscles! Relaxing on a tree Relaxing in a web Adios for now, we'll be back in July!

@ Bricktown Ballpark

Bricktown Ballpark is home to the Oklahoma City Dodgers (AAA affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers) The stadium is located on a street named for a particularly famous Okie ballplayer. Homeruns leaving the ballpark seem to find windows along Power Alley quite frequently. Great baseball history all around! The Omaha Storm Chasers (AAA affiliate of the Kansas City Royals) were the visiting team for a perfect-weather afternoon game!  We, of course, know several Omaha Storm Chasers.  The majority of the roster has been promoted from the NWA Naturals in Springdale (AA affiliate of the Kansas City Royals) OKC is not too far away! 3 hours, straight down I-40 We enjoyed a constant, cool breeze for most of the game! Check-out the hotel in left field! Mickey Mantle's name & likeness can be found everywhere in the ballpark A surprise visit from #24! Cheslor Cuthbert! A cool autograph...

Root Beer for Breakfast

First thing in the morning, it's so very refreshing! Gingersnap iris smell just like root beer! Aunt Holly gave us a nice start of these several years ago. They have multiplied very nicely, too. Davis is helping to divide them, so we can have even more root beer -next year.

Arvest Ballpark's Crown Club

It's the royal crown of all suites! With wrap-around, floor-to-ceiling, fully retractable windows Our tickets were for Sunday's game: Naturals vs the Rough Riders of Frisco, TX  All week long, major storms were predicted during the game hours.   For the second time in three days, the rain detoured around us.  Even with possible rain, having suite tickets can be a good thing. 1. We can easily stay dry. 2. If the game is delayed, the chairs & couches are extra-comfy! 3. If the game is postponed before it's an official game, the tickets are good  for the make-up game. It's baseball with past, present, & future Royals! Championship traditions! Please wear bling to the pre-game: 3 current Naturals have American League Championship rings. (we're waiting for one of them to show-up for pre-game stretches wearing his ring) DJ's pre-game activity: Davis was able to completely assemble a ...
