I had to go back to Little Rock this week for more training with my new job. It's been very emotional for me having to leave and be away from my guys for such a long time. It's much harder than I thought it was going to be. The first couple of days I was gone (the first week) were nice... Like a much needed vacation.... then came the tears. I know Daddy has been taking very good care of Davis and has had lots of good help from Grandparents! But last week I became an emotional wreck...
First was the new head wound, from the brick on the outside of our house... It really scared us.. so much I don't think we have taken a picture of it. It's a pretty gruesome bruise.
Then Wednesday when my mom kept Davis for the day... she called and said... he's sleeping all day. He never does that, and doesn't really take more than one nap a day! And he had a fever, and wasn't eating and was sleeping! I was panicking. I can't tell you how close I was to driving home that night just so I could see him for myself. I was really considering it. If I didn't have to drive the state car down there, I probably would have driven back.
Thursday afternoon, I get home and he's OK... just OK.. not great. I can see how tired he is... and his eyes are just not right... His fever hasn't really returned but maybe he's just going thru some changes in his sleeping. Today he took a 2 hour nap. I keep telling myself it's just his teeth. He has a new one this week that popped up while I was away.
Thursday afternoon, Davis looked at me and said "Poopie!" I said ok.. and we decided to try out the new potty. Here are some pics of him testing it out. Nothing much happened, but we got a kick out of seeing him reading the motorcycle magazine, sitting there for about 15 minutes. I've never seen him sit still for so long, I thought he may actually do it... but no luck. I know we are early, but he does seem to know what Poopie is... so we're just having fun with it!
New words this week... Up, Turtle, Teeth, Bubble and Oprah! I've been working on spanish with him, but the only thing he says is... El Chic ca chica chico.... El Chico!
