Nature Center

(they might be needed for display and/or food for other critters)
The 'turtle in the box' is still a favorite
trying a pair of deer antlers on for size
it seemed like only yesterday he fit...
so, we've moved-on to a different measuring stick
 wonderful indoor nature feels nice
on a breezy-cold fall afternoon!
 the hungry, hungry Timber Rattlesnake

Some of our trips to the Nature Center are a little rushed- this visit lasted about 30 minutes. It happens during the school year when we combo the NC with a visit with the barbershop at Ft Chaffee. Being the first car out of the school parking lot at 3:10 (gotta arrive early to be first in line!) and the last ones out of the Nature Center at 4:30 with a fresh hair cut is a tall order. Especially when there are must-see exhibits and photos to be taken!
Building Intercom System Announcement:
"The Nature Center will be closing in 5 minutes,
please make your way to nearest exit"
Davis takes a moment to reflect on things.

The next time the frozen bobcat gets a high-five
will be in 2013!

欢乐中国的明天!

How about having Chinese food tomorrow?      Great! December 13th is Chinese Tomorrow! What is Chinese Tomorrow? When families get together for Chinese food and celebrate everything that is 'put-off' until tomorrow.   Here are a few rules: Everyone wears black (the actual day 'tomorrow' is dark & never sees a sunrise) Celebrate things that are put-off until tomorrow (find joy in those normally unpleasant procrastinations) Choose just one person to open a single fortune cookie (everyone else must wait until tomorrow ) Blog about it (post the fortune's lucky numbers as the title) Enjoy the great food! (Chinese food buffets are the best!)  欢乐中国的明天!

Happy New Year!
