at Arvest Ballpark!
We picked the right day to get back
to the ballpark!
The ballpark was celebrating
Christmas in July!
Christmas music was being featured
on the loudspeakers all game long!
Lots of Christmas decorations, too!
And, Weatherman Garrett guaranteed
the game would not get snowed-out!
We're big fans of all the Naturals.
It's exciting that 4 of the Top 5
play in Springdale!
Meet the #1 Prospect for the Kansas City Royals.
Raul Mondesi is supremely-talented,
and, super-nice!
Does his last name sound familiar?
It should.
His father had a decade-plus Major League
career which began with the Dodgers
(NL Rookie of the Year, '93)
(All Star, '95)
and concluded with the Atlanta Braves.
He took the time for an awesome photo
and, signed a baseball for DJ!
Lane Adams stopped-by & signed a photo
from last year's TL All Star game!
Then, #3 Prospect Kyle Zimmer paused
for a quick photo with DJ!
Kyle has been tabbed by many
for a September call-up to the
Royals' active roster for a strong
playoff run in October!
All smiles.
...However...
This was the last time DJ was able to wear
his 2013 TL All Star Game shirt.
Taylor Lindsey signed the front of the shirt.
He was a TL All Star second baseman with
the Arkansas Travelers at the time.
Following a trade, he now plays for
the San Diego Padres organization.
Sinker the Lake Creature
He gives an All Star performance
at every home game!
It's Mitch Maier!
We saw him base-coaching in Arizona
(during a Royals Spring Training game)
then again in Oklahoma City
(during an Omaha Storm Chasers game)
and, then again today!
Such awesome weather!
Raul had another awesome game
hitting & fielding!
former Naturals are featured
all around the ballpark!
The game went into extra innings,
so Davis had the entire outfield berm,
and playground to himself!
12 innings!
The Naturals didn't win this game,
but we were going to stay cheering
after midnight if necessary!
We had to do some shopping after the game
(and, subsequently, got stuck
in Kenny Chesney concert traffic).
We didn't get back home until after 2am.
When we arrived,
we were thrilled to see:
