Davis' first visit to the home of the Royals!

The weather was just a little

on the warm side!

A $250 million renovation project was completed in 2010.

The result is a modern facility that can better handle

capacity crowds of 40,000. 

Refreshingly, Kauffman Stadium is one of the few

remaining venues that has not sold its naming rights

to a corporate entity. 

We saw the 1st place Royals take-on their

2nd place division nemesis,

the Minnesota Twins.

A great matchup for a special 4th of July game!

A huge flag was unfurled for the National Anthem!

Then, a low fly-over by a pair of F-16s:

(Davis said he could feel the thrust of the engines in his body)

Cheering for the starting lineup!

(we even gave some reserved applause to

Pine Bluff HS alum Torii Hunter of the Twins)

The huge stadium was completely sold-out!

Our Kauffman Stadium experience was mixed.
It's always great to experience a Major League
game that's packed to capacity.
Vocal emotions are amplified by 40,000.
It's an electric, spine-tingling experience!
However, that can take away from the overall
experience as well.
The concourses were so congested,
it was too difficult to attempt to navigate
to the kid's area, or explore the shops & eats.
But, that's an easy sacrifice to make when
the Royals are in first place
-with the best record-
in the American League!

We gave a rowdy "Empanada Madness" cheer

for the All Star catcher that we enjoyed

lunch with, earlier in the day!

  The Twins got the best of the Royals

on this night, but they couldn't

put a dampener on the fireworks!
