@ Werner Park

It's a big address for the only structure
for miles around!
Werner Ballpark is home of the Royals'
AAA affiliate, Omaha Storm Chasers
A cool truck with
an awesome parking spot!
DJ thought the merry-go-round
was unfairly represented with
girl-themed horses.
We stayed dry during the rain delay,
& watched the end of the Royals game!
Nice, 65 degree weather in July!
Welcome to Nebraska!
Championship Royalty!
It's Vortex!
#STIRUPTHESTORM !!!
We saw Bubba play the night before
in Springdale-
Now, he's listed in the Chaser's
starting lineup.
He may have followed (or passed) us
on the way to Omaha!
Several other Storm Chaser players
have made the journey up from Springdale.
It's Casey!

Werner Park is fun-filled
with lots of kid's activities,
and neat baseball stuff!
Can't really call it "bad weather" :
Drizzle & 65 degrees
We had club seating
that kept our buns dry!
First, the game was delayed
(for about 30 minutes)...
Then, cancelled.
No worries, the make-up game
was scheduled for the next day.
With temps in the 60's, we weren't leaving.

Werner Park's fitting tribute to one
of the best all-time pitchers in baseball:
Bob "Hoot" Gibson
was born & raised in Omaha.
Gibson won 251 games in his 17-year career
with the St Louis Cardinals.
In a batter-friendly era,
he recorded an amazing 3,117 strikeouts.
In 1968, Gibson had one of the greatest seasons
ever compiled by a pitcher.
He was 22-9 with a record-setting 1.12 ERA
and league-leading totals
of 13 shutouts and 268 strikeouts.
He was named the National League's MVP
and won its Cy Young Award that season.
Even rain-outs can be fun!

欢乐中国的明天!

How about having Chinese food tomorrow?      Great! December 13th is Chinese Tomorrow! What is Chinese Tomorrow? When families get together for Chinese food and celebrate everything that is 'put-off' until tomorrow.   Here are a few rules: Everyone wears black (the actual day 'tomorrow' is dark & never sees a sunrise) Celebrate things that are put-off until tomorrow (find joy in those normally unpleasant procrastinations) Choose just one person to open a single fortune cookie (everyone else must wait until tomorrow ) Blog about it (post the fortune's lucky numbers as the title) Enjoy the great food! (Chinese food buffets are the best!)  欢乐中国的明天!

Happy New Year!
