@ Wrigley Field

3 Major Leagues ballparks within an hour's drive  of where we were staying! It was tricky however, finding a home date for each team that matched our travel itinerary.  Amazingly, within a span of 4 days, the Brewers,  White Sox, & Cubs had home games scheduled. It was a nice bonus that Wrigley Field is celebrating its 100th season. A sold-out Thursday night game for a last place team (Cubs)  against an out-of-division, cellar-dwelling opponent (Padres). This only happens at Wrigley Field. Harry Caray glasses! (100% authentic -purchased at his restaurant) Amazing crowd! The most helpful & passionate ushers can be found at Wrigley. History is everywhere at Wrigley. And, (ignoring the original-to-the-period urinal troughs) it's very well-done. With the Cubs falling just a little behind the Padres, nothing seemed to dampen the baseball-loving atmosphere! Our believe-it-or-not Wrigley experience: Even af...

@ Shedd Aquarium

Located on the shores of Lake Michigan in the museum district of Downtown Chicago, Shedd Aquarium starts impressing from at least a quarter-mile away. Once inside, there was never a letdown. An awesome kid's touch tank was set-up under a tent in the courtyard! A nice wave from a cow-nosed ray Davis has a strong affection for jelly fish. Shedd Aquarium has an entire wing dedicated to jellies. We made multiple trips through the exhibit. Saw the poster, skipped the movie. (was Davis' idea... makes sense...  watching a movie = less in-person sea creature viewing time) made the list for 'most extravagantly dressed critter' up-close & personable! Amazing! We could have spent the entire time with the seahorses!... ...or with the awesome octopus! so graceful, yet so very, very strange Make your best fish-face! Must have had a big boat. Another great touchable! Davis will be talking about this experienc...

Royal Treatment

at US Cellular Field, home of the Chicago White Sox! We saw a lot of former Northwest Arkansas Naturals! Soon after we arrived, Davis was stung by some type of insect... There was no swelling, but it was still hurting him during his photo with... The Third Baseman for the Kansas City Royals, Mike Moustakas! During the game, Mike smashed 2 home runs! Davis met Mike in 2010 at his last home game in Springdale  He signed a ball for Davis before the game! Enjoying the specials for Greek heritage night! Royals won 7-1 !!!

Good Day for Sun & Sand

On the shores of Lake Michigan! As much sand as an ocean-shore beach with water that stretches as far as we could see! Fresh-water. Without, disappointingly, any of the sea creatures the boy loves. We didn't miss any of the typical beach-crowding though. Beach-friendly graffiti. We even picked-up & properly disposed of some trash! (Davis' idea) He declared the water to be FREEZING! Check. (his 'dream' of being covered with sand) Nope. It's not so simple to 'stick a toe in' to be able to say that you've been in a Great Lake. The water was that cold! He did it. Lake Michigan. Four more to go!

An Evening with Bob

Bob Uecker, that is. Known to most as "Mr. Baseball." His " I must be on the front row " seat is memorialized at the Milwaukee Brewers' Miller Park.

Morning Swim

A great way to start the day!

Come thaw with me

The day has arrived. We needed more room in the freezer. The snowman from the past winter had to go. He will thaw in a sealed container,  and possibly be re-frozen someday. And, possibly become part of a new snowman in the future!
