On the shores of Lake Michigan!
As much sand as an ocean-shore beach
with water that stretches as far as we could see!
Fresh-water.
Without, disappointingly, any of the sea creatures the boy loves.
We didn't miss any of the typical beach-crowding though.
Beach-friendly graffiti.
We even picked-up & properly disposed of some trash!

It's not so simple to 'stick a toe in'
to be able to say that you've been in a Great Lake.
