@ Dallas World Aquarium

Over the weekend, we took a road trip to check out the aquarium in Dallas. It's located downtown with all the tall buildings! (Davis stopped watching his movie to awe at the skyline). From Frisco, we travelled the toll road 20 miles to the DWA, but when added to the cost to park, it was still less than $10. The internet directions were spot-on, taking a lot of potential stress out of the trip (plus Mommy used to live in Dallas). The lady behind the ticket counter thought Davis was cute enough to get admitted for free. The aquariums and exhibits (not just fish!) are spread out over 3 floors and took us over 2 hours to see everything.

Davis saw lots of big fish! We can tell he's kinda proud of himself differentiating between big and little -Mommy & Daddy both agreed that this was a big fish. There are several walk-thru fish tanks, including a shark tunnel. Davis liked the smaller reef fish tunnel -Mommy took this video of Daddy and Davis going underwater with the fish:

Looking down into the shark tank. Davis enjoyed being able to see fish in every direction (in addition to the stairs and elevators).
Daddy was developing a serious appetite for Red Lobster.
DWA also has a large tropical rainforest area with lots of animals and a big waterfall. It was very humid, and Daddy was concerned that we may not get too many good photos. Davis got to see aligators, penguins (who knew they live in the rainforest?), turtles, bats, and a big jaguar!
Davis thought the slow moving sloths were very funny

"Is that water from all the humidity dripping on me?"
"Dunno, but if you have to open your mouth, keep your head down
-birds are flying all around us!"
We'll post more of the videos (elevator, penguins, sloths) soon on Davis' YouTube link

Here's a video of Davis and the Big Black Cat:
(that may or may not snack on penguins in the rainforest)

欢乐中国的明天!

How about having Chinese food tomorrow?      Great! December 13th is Chinese Tomorrow! What is Chinese Tomorrow? When families get together for Chinese food and celebrate everything that is 'put-off' until tomorrow.   Here are a few rules: Everyone wears black (the actual day 'tomorrow' is dark & never sees a sunrise) Celebrate things that are put-off until tomorrow (find joy in those normally unpleasant procrastinations) Choose just one person to open a single fortune cookie (everyone else must wait until tomorrow ) Blog about it (post the fortune's lucky numbers as the title) Enjoy the great food! (Chinese food buffets are the best!)  欢乐中国的明天!
