$10 Popcorn (go hogs) [and other musings]

The first game of the 2009 season at Baum Stadium!
(free parking, standing is allowed only where permitted, no outside non-alcoholic drinks. go hogs)
(true- you're allowed to bring-in all the un-opened containers of brewski that you desire [thru the hog pen gate], but one half-empty extra grande sized ice coffee can be trouble. go hogs)
(anytime a person implies something that would cause Mr F.Broyles to frown, end the statement with "go hogs" -and all is well)
Davis parks his Razorback Mini-Hummer and heads to his luxury sky box.
(he can dream right?)
Front row on the outfield berm
(he even received a special exemption to the 'No Standing' policy)
The Diamond Hogs had their bats ready.
(nothing too stealthy about the PING of an aluminium bat smashing a 90mph fastball)
The Little Boy had his snacks ready.
(confession: the smuggled-in [go hogs] McDonald's ice coffee [background, right side] belongs to Daddy, he figured risking Razorback Jail [go hogs] was worth it -those things are just too addictive)
Stee-Rike!
(Mommy and Daddy are still debating the type of grip the pitcher is using)
Tee-Rific!
Davis brought his tee ball and right-handed fielding glove to the game.
(it's an Alex Rodriquez signature glove- reason why it's not pictured)
(it was the only type of RH tee ball glove the local Academy Sports carried)
(we'll conveniently lose the glove before he gets old enough to understand how A-Rod disrespected and cheated the game of baseball)
A good-sized crowd, temps near 60 degrees, but ohh [go hogs], the wind was gusting [go hogs] terribly at times [go hogs]
(Ms P.Brooks [black pants with score sheet] was thrilled to get a season ticket right behind home plate... she Ebay'd the seat [go hogs] in the bottom of the second inning after discovering she was blocked from seeing any action by the Wave the Flag After Every Pitch Guy)
Not too many things distracted Davis from having an awesome day at the ballpark.
(the weasel eye is because he thinks he got hosed on his share of the kettle korn)
(maybe he would have gotten more if he had remembered to bring his harmonica)
(bought two $5 bags...yeah, if some falls on the ground, you're obligated to pick it up and eat it)
the Razorbacks won the game 4-2!
(and Davis will have a special snack [the remaining $5 worth of kettle korn] waiting on him when he gets home)
GO HOGS!

欢乐中国的明天!

How about having Chinese food tomorrow?      Great! December 13th is Chinese Tomorrow! What is Chinese Tomorrow? When families get together for Chinese food and celebrate everything that is 'put-off' until tomorrow.   Here are a few rules: Everyone wears black (the actual day 'tomorrow' is dark & never sees a sunrise) Celebrate things that are put-off until tomorrow (find joy in those normally unpleasant procrastinations) Choose just one person to open a single fortune cookie (everyone else must wait until tomorrow ) Blog about it (post the fortune's lucky numbers as the title) Enjoy the great food! (Chinese food buffets are the best!)  欢乐中国的明天!
