Holiday Time!

Celebrating Christmas on a submarine?
All aboard the USS Razorback for some Holiday fun!
Davis has grown considerably from his first visit,
but, he's still an ideal size to be a submariner!
all of the Christmas fixin's must be under the floor
-in the sub's food pantry
 unbelievably, there's no dishwasher,
no microwave, either!
Really, what would be better than eating microwave popcorn while watching a Christmas marathon of Spongebob Squarepants episodes while submerged hundreds of feet underwater in a 1940's era submarine?
there has to be a DVD player somewhere in
this sub, right?
maybe if some of these knobs are reset...
 (not a flat screen TV)
but, the sub does have a fancy, double-propeller torpedo!
Submariner Davis Jim reporting for duty
(only if he can bring-along his TV/DVD player
and his complete movie collection)

Afterwards, we took a stroll across the Arkansas River
to the LR Nature Center!
(fond memories of his time in the Navy)
there's always something new & fun to learn about nature!
and cool ways to protect nature!
(with the world's largest night vision goggles!)
(thinking about fishing must be making him hungry)
Lunchtime!
(he's bargaining for compensatory hushpuppies)
Yum!
If only DJ had packed his Superman PJ's...
We saved more over-the-river trolley riding,
Peabody Children's Park,
and DS Ballpark
for our next visit!

欢乐中国的明天!

How about having Chinese food tomorrow?      Great! December 13th is Chinese Tomorrow! What is Chinese Tomorrow? When families get together for Chinese food and celebrate everything that is 'put-off' until tomorrow.   Here are a few rules: Everyone wears black (the actual day 'tomorrow' is dark & never sees a sunrise) Celebrate things that are put-off until tomorrow (find joy in those normally unpleasant procrastinations) Choose just one person to open a single fortune cookie (everyone else must wait until tomorrow ) Blog about it (post the fortune's lucky numbers as the title) Enjoy the great food! (Chinese food buffets are the best!)  欢乐中国的明天!

Happy New Year!
