@ Grand Canyon National Park

This was the main attraction during our Spring Break excursion.

 

Breathtaking.

Awe-inspiring.

Truly amazing.

 

Viewing areas with railings add to the overall experience.

Although, many areas are 'true to nature'

-no signs, no railings, just a long, long way down.

Bright, cloudless skies!

We heard a professional guide saying this was one

of the very best viewing days he had experienced.

(It could have been his first day on the job,

but he seemed to be a canyon-person veteran)

The canyon air is so invigorating!

 We stayed overnight in Williams, Arizona.
It was less than a hour's drive to the
entrance of the park.

It took him a little while to see it...

 It's so easy to lose all sense of time,
and to get lost in the majesty of nature!

Facilities in the park are nice, and not too over-priced.

Certain places (like the observation tower) can get

crowded during the early afternoon.

However, it's still possible to find secluded viewing areas.

Just look for wide gravel spots for parking & foot paths.

Mountain lions & a few types of venomous snakes

enjoy canyon life too.

Have a "what to do if..." plan.

(cell phone service is non-existent
in most areas of the park)

And, of course, there probably won't be a railing,

so be cautious of the sudden-appearing edge. 

 Some of the more popular areas

still have spots where it's possible
