@ White Sands National Monument

Davis was a special invitee
to New Mexico's premiere
natural destination!
The National Park Service
has declared its intention to get
"every kid in a park"
To accomplish this, the NPS
has determined that all 4th Graders
(public, private, & home-schooled)
are exceptionally awesome!
Along with a NPS VIP card,
4th Graders (along with the rest of the family)
get free admission to every Nat'l Park!
What an honor!
Ready for an awesome experience!
(Safely, of course)
White Sands NM is quite a mix
between normal park structures...
& out-of-this-world scenery!
We could have spent days
exploring the park!
almost beach-like
"we should drive a red Jeep next time"

It's an extreme environment.
The intense sunlight, cloudless skies,
 white sand, high altitude,
strange wildlife, pain-inflicting plants,
distant mountain vistas...
-all combine to make White Sands NM
one of the more unique places on the planet!
It's a fragile environment too.
Sand graffiti (or even walking
on the sand) is only allowed
in designated areas.
Souvenir sand?
A definite no-no.
If every tourist filled a jar,
millions of pounds would be lost every year.
The Park protects its sand.
DJ thoroughly enjoyed his
White Sands VIP experience!

欢乐中国的明天!

How about having Chinese food tomorrow?      Great! December 13th is Chinese Tomorrow! What is Chinese Tomorrow? When families get together for Chinese food and celebrate everything that is 'put-off' until tomorrow.   Here are a few rules: Everyone wears black (the actual day 'tomorrow' is dark & never sees a sunrise) Celebrate things that are put-off until tomorrow (find joy in those normally unpleasant procrastinations) Choose just one person to open a single fortune cookie (everyone else must wait until tomorrow ) Blog about it (post the fortune's lucky numbers as the title) Enjoy the great food! (Chinese food buffets are the best!)  欢乐中国的明天!

Happy New Year!
