@ Cathedral Mountain

A fun, awe-inspiring hike!
Cathedral Mountain is a few miles NW
of Sedona, AZ
It can be seen from the main highway
The first 1/4 mile from the parking area
is a fairly easy hike
Moderate climbing is required
past the first trail intersection
Even though the trails are popular
with hikers, it seemed like we had the
mountain to ourselves for the majority
of our late-afternoon trek.
We did have a problem with a group of
mountain bikers utilizing the walking
trail on their downhill run.
Misbehaving mountain bikers
reflect badly on the entire
Subaru-bike-rack community.
Soon, the quiet returned,
and we soaked-in the majestic scenery.
Our trail guide was very patient
with picture-taking
He is also a big fan
of using hiking sticks
The elevation is about
5,000 feet
more than what we're used to
We took our time,
and drank plenty of water
Beautiful!
Possibly the highlight
of our trip?
Perfect hiking conditions!
A match?
Our initial plan was just to hike
to the first trail intersection.
We went a lot further!
Thanks to our awesome trail guide!

欢乐中国的明天!

How about having Chinese food tomorrow?      Great! December 13th is Chinese Tomorrow! What is Chinese Tomorrow? When families get together for Chinese food and celebrate everything that is 'put-off' until tomorrow.   Here are a few rules: Everyone wears black (the actual day 'tomorrow' is dark & never sees a sunrise) Celebrate things that are put-off until tomorrow (find joy in those normally unpleasant procrastinations) Choose just one person to open a single fortune cookie (everyone else must wait until tomorrow ) Blog about it (post the fortune's lucky numbers as the title) Enjoy the great food! (Chinese food buffets are the best!)  欢乐中国的明天!

Happy New Year!
