cookie face

Sometimes Davis likes a little snack while he's watching football games with Daddy. Since he finished-off two helpings of applesauce, Davis was due for a special treat! A chocolate cookie was presented, and the D-monster snapped it up and managed to get some of it in his mouth. Davis doesn't have too much time for football, he's been busy with all of his new toys and books. It's a very good thing to have a lot of fun entertainment around with the cold temperatures outside (although Mommy and Davis did bundle up and go for a stroller ride around the neighborhood this afternoon). Davis' newest word is 'dog-gone-it' -he kind of drags it out with a dramatic tone after he misses a shot on his new basketball goal. Yesterday in the car, Davis put together his longest sentence to date: "I don't know where Monkey is". We usually keep Monkey's identical twin in the car as a travel buddy, but somehow, Davis snuck it inside the house. He now sleeps with both monkeys, which he enjoys a lot. Recently, he has been waking up in really good moods, and will frequently treat us with a song (see the video on the Christmas post if you haven't already). Curiously, as Davis' sentencing and singing ability has increased, his willingness to talk to people on the phone has declined. He used to jump up and rush to the phone whenever it rang. Now, he just continues with what he's doing, and will hardly say anything even with the phone being handed to him. Maybe he's just protesting that he has to use someone else's phone -and that he wants a phone of his own. Not wanting to bore with too much text, here's the rest of the cookie face photos:
(Daddy knows he would get in trouble if he just posted one photo)
(I just couldn't decide which ones stood-out more than the others, so I've posted all of them... enjoy!)

the dismayed look when told that he has a little cookie on his face
the aliens engage their tractor beam to reclaim the chocolate cookie
(Davis likes that story...actually it's Davis checking himself out in the mirror)
proof that Davis doesn't always listen,
he's been told never to try and whistle with his mouth full
one proud cookie monster
"yes, Davis, the cookie is half gone,
and it's the only one you can have"
"there's a substantial amount of cookie on your face"
"a bubble bath might be the only thing to get your face clean"
"sneak-up on Mommy and give her a kiss!"

欢乐中国的明天!

How about having Chinese food tomorrow?      Great! December 13th is Chinese Tomorrow! What is Chinese Tomorrow? When families get together for Chinese food and celebrate everything that is 'put-off' until tomorrow.   Here are a few rules: Everyone wears black (the actual day 'tomorrow' is dark & never sees a sunrise) Celebrate things that are put-off until tomorrow (find joy in those normally unpleasant procrastinations) Choose just one person to open a single fortune cookie (everyone else must wait until tomorrow ) Blog about it (post the fortune's lucky numbers as the title) Enjoy the great food! (Chinese food buffets are the best!)  欢乐中国的明天!

Happy New Year!
