It's the home of the Chicago White Sox!
We were overtly cheering for the visiting Kansas City Royals!
Thanks to Mike Moustakas, the Royals got the lead early,
and ended-up routing the home team!
They have ivy in the outfield here, too.
(Not sure what Cubs fans think about this 'tradition-borrowing'
from the iconic ivy of Wrigley Field)
They may have borrowed the ivy idea,
but preserving an old shower stall in the concourse
is probably going remain a US Cellular Field original.
Davis' game ticket was for seat #8.
(Moustakas wears #8)
It was Greek heritage night at the ballpark.
Davis got to meet Moose before the game,
he signed a baseball, and then came back
for a photo.
Moose went 3 for 5 at the plate with 2 HRs.
White Sox fans were giving Davis high-fives
during the game.
It was an awesome game experience!
A ballpark review/critique/rant about US Cellular Field:
1. Give baseball fans Comiskey Park back.
Yes, Wrigley Field is a corporate sponsorship too,
but if tradition is working, don't mess with it.
Comiskey Park had tradition, and team ownership
put a price on it, then flushed it.
2. Chicago has an awesome skyline.
Build a stadium that somehow manages to block all of it.
Really?
And strip a familiar name from it.
And over-charge for everything.
Welcome to US Cellular Field.
3. Ballpark Ushers make a huge impression.
Positive: The Usher in Section 128
He made a trip to get an ice compress
for Davis' insect sting, & was calming/funny
during the painful/stressful moment
Negative: The Usher in Section 121
Every-other sporting facility allows fans to remain
during the post-game interviews.
This usher decides to close-off his section
before Moustakas came out for his
on-field interview.
Boo.
